I found the mistake, your first factor was (-5 + 1282) divided by (-32) and when u brought down u forgot to write 2 after 8 ( u wrote it as -5+ (1285) divided by (-32)

You should look up Dr Po Shen Loh for completing the square. I was dismayed to hear you diss the CTS method. Are you not curious about why it exists? Quadratic problems began as area problems hence the square. Look up diagrammatic illustrations of this method - honestly it’s totally logical.

Is it possible that the AC method leaves you with an answer that can be further factored? For example, when I used the AC method on the trinomial 4xsquared - 8x - 12, I got (4x - 4)(x +3) But this can be further factored into 4(x - 1)(x + 3). And both of these are different from what my calculator got, which was 4(x - 3)(x + 1).
