John Frusciante Interview for Viva Zwei

2001 Interview with John Frusciante for German music station Viva Zwei. Enjoy!
Hes the only artist in the history of ever that speaks of music and art like i do. He always gives credit to the force beyond and not to himself. I feel that. He lets creative spirit speak, rather than forcing and bending it to his will. He is at its will. Buffalo 66 is my favourite movie of all time. I only found out a few days ago that John did the soundtrack for Brown Bunny and that he and Vincent were close during this time. Id listened to johns tracks from the movie, not knowing they were from the movie. I had no idea until watching this video that John was such a fan of Buffalo 66'. It makes sense, my taste is obviously very specific 😂
He's so child-like when he laughs. Adorable.
What a great interview and interviewer. These questions come form the heart for sure.

"what do you think kept you alive, what gave you the will to keep on? can you imagine what it was? or was it -" damn what an ending
I always come back to these interviews
Wow! Great interview. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him talk so openly.
So is John Frusciante a shizoprenic, when he heard voices in his head?
I think it was kind of a metaphor Like he was overthinking about the situation
No, he’s described the voices in his head in multiple interviews: apparently they told him he would be a guitarist when he was 7 (and that’s why he started). They also told him to quit RHCP and to start and stop doing drugs. They insulted him as well. He’s said he spent a long time trying to differentiate between the “good” and “bad” spirits, but now “know[s] how to make them happy.”
no, he’s schizotypal
@@lux3919 yeah and here i think hes talking about this happening before he was on tour idk if hes talking aabout childhood here
@@lux3919 or idk if hes talking about hearing the voice on tour before blood sugar.. on a previous tour
It’s wild to think that his junkie stage was something he did for himself to exercise his demons and become more creative, we look at it as a bad thing but that man looked at it as a success, wild.
It hadn't always been like that, he said he used to regret it every day, but then eventually used the willpower to move on basically, and later apparently ended up changing his perspective on that time. I don't think he entered that stage with any plan in his mind at the time, I think he realised what he was really trying to do after analyzing it much, much later. And I still heard him say many times it was his downfall rather than 'success'...

It seems to me that this interviewer is big fan of Johns... He seem very excited and listen closely to what is John saying. I love this interview.
Not the biggest fan, If you check part one he didn’t know what age he was when he joined so John corrected him, he was 2 years off
Ive met John twice...in September 91...and then again in 2004. Very nice guy but a seismic shift in his personality. Obviously age and his heavy personal changes played a big role but it was a literally like meeting 2 different people.
And which version of him did you like most? I totally understand why he changed but I loved so much the old young John
how did he change?
@@ricksturgis6403 thats a total of 13 years
He pushed pushed himself into a place that killed his soul but the shadow people rebuilt him from the inside out he was pretty much just an existence
He is literally 2 people in one body

Johnny, I love you baby but you're so wrong and completely confused. I'd love to sit down with you for one hour and explain the true meaning of life, bcuz I know exactly what it is and what we're here for. oh Johnny Baby, someone has to get him in touch with me before it's too late. if anyone knows him personally, pls pass this along
I guess the true meaning of life is different for every person. And this was a long time ago
Pretty arrogant to assume you know the meaning of life. Not trying to be a jerk but that statement in and of itself is absurd and really shows how much more you need to learn about life. I'm sure YOU think you know the meaning of life...and perhaps it serves you well...but it is 100% subjective. Again...not trying to be a jerk and not looking to start an argument but that statement is about as arrogant as it gets.

@@mikamika5889 Cheers my friend
@@warborn_inc. you know you're right. And most as it seems in a scentence but not only it is a completely undivergentable and out of context that makes it seems like it was written and it is not to be something that should be in close with the text as it seems so as close it gets it sounds completely out of context and it far from the topic center so we should we all as we come to this get this by it comes.
John Frusciante is the only celebrity that has an equal number of diehard MALE fans, (if not more), as he does females. Women know hes cute and adorable, but the guys that Love him respect and appreciate hia talent. I personally think he's a baby doll, but I know enough about music to know he's a Musical Genius. He is definitely a legend in his own time!!!
C'mon I don't want to bring that "equality" shit here, but hey, I think not every female is only interested in Johnny's looks, we all appreciate not only him as a person but his music at the first place.
@@andreasebelova1646 right, as a woman I also respect and admire his talent, and love his music deeply before anything else yk
@@stubbadub768 Exactly...
@@andreasebelova1646 thanks for speaking up :) ✊
Sorry, but I do not like John because he is cute and adorable, probably the least if it counts whatsoever. I love his music, his writing, his playing, his voice and respect him as a person who has gone through hell and more and is now healthy and, hopefully, happy. Your thinking is poor for the times we are living.

He's got the same exact voices as me..The way he explains how the voices, talk; thats exactly the same thing that happens in my head ... Do du doo doo!! Do du doo doo!! Twighlight zone!!
I love Somebody from DM too and the fact that John loves it too makes me feel so good.

I love this, the interviewer is amazing!! He asked such interesting questions and seems like a huge John fan lol
I want to know more about the other lives and dimensions! !

Are we sure John didn't have psychosis from drug usage?

I wonder if he was trying to subtly tell the interviewer, 'hey, i had a childhood, too. "
Sorry John, whilst speaking about spirits you can't say yanno

one of my fav interviews with him. i feel like this is a post 1999 interview where he doesnt seem slightly annoyed by having to do an interview
I know what he's talking about with those films. I get that same feeling of knowing it'll be alright because I still reached that moment in my life, I have this one image of a farmhouse at night and the air is clear and warm, like a beautiful summer night. I can't wait for that night to come because not only can I see the scene, but the feeling that goes along with it is so happy. Anyway that's an example of a film I've seen, there's been others but I can't think of any at the moment. Does anyone else have images?
alexcordina I know what you mean man
alexcordina I have this image where I’m sitting on a cliff that hangs over the ocean with a little highway behind me on the coast of California. And the sun is just going past the horizon and I’m sitting there with my guitar and I make the most beautiful song on my guitar while I watch the stars come out and when the song is over I can see the whole Milky Way lighting up the ocean. I know these kinds of things will happen in my life and I want to time travel just so I can be there in that moment. I have so many others with country hills here in southern Canada and I’m standing in the field listening to the wind howl and those types of films give me shivers down my spine.

Why do people dick ride him so much?

hes just one of those guys that the more you look into him, the more you see how genuine and real he is. like David Bowie or Prince or something, they REALLY are that cool. hes good looking, plays very great music thats VERY digestable, and has a sensualness to him. seems to be mainly chicks that obsess over him. except me. but yeah idk. why not obsess over him?
