This car is of extraordinary value at below $55K and less than $50K after federal tax credit. This car deserves the title “performance”not only due to the numbers if accomplishes but also because it makes an amazing daily driver.

We have had this tree 3 years. Limited fruit production so far. 1 fruit this year. Takes 9-10 months to ripen. In my opinion it’s like a cross of a banana and an Has avocado in both texture and flavor. Slight grainy at skin like a pear but avocado smooth with similar mild nutty mixed with banana sweetness.

    I’ve never smelt foot papayas. Do you think the soil is making it smell like feet?

    • @SoCalTropicalgardener
      @SoCalTropicalgardener 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@jamesmartinez9140 I suppose that could happen but I doubt it. There are various fruits that peoples taste buds or olfactory senses interpret differently. For example I’ve heard people say guavas smell like armpits or BO. I don’t smell that at all but some interpret the smell that way. Sometimes my papayas get a small amount of some sort of fungus on the skin. Perhaps that is contributing to the smell. The fruit tastes good so I don’t care. I don’t eat the skin anyway!

      @@jamesmartinez9140 good question? I can’t say in my experience that one is hardier than the other. @@jamesmartinez9140 you almost got it. Yorba Linda. It’s hard to say if you had a micro climate and protected from frost you might keep it alive, however, I grow a lot of tropicals and these just barely make it through some of my winters. I’m surprise even on night where no frost is expected I see some small frost burns on some of the leaflets. I’m worried they are going to die one winter. One currently only has one frond spear just starting to open. Not sure if that means it’s destined to doom. The other one has three full fronds, one just starting to open and another spike beginning to emerge. I love the challenge of growing plants that are delicate but it sucks to worry they might not make it.

      Good questions. I think it’s part of the building of excitement. I have suspicion they may have a buyer come to each Tesla Center today to pick one up. Ramping of these is slow. Most of the ones people see on the road are were “candidates.” Meaning not final production models. It’s not that there are many on the roads. The vehicle is so unique and anticipated that any sighting gets a lot of attention. Mostly likely there are only a few dozen at most that have been produced so far. Hopefully a lot details will be available with the official deliveries today.

      Great question! Once a banana tree fruits it no longer grows and will die. The banana bunch does hang down and tends to pull the tree to one side. Sometimes it’s low enough to use a step stool to cut the bananas off. Sometimes I cut a few hands off at a time, more often I cut the whole bunch off. That said, most of the time I cut the whole bunch and then cut the tree down. Thanks for the question as I now know the next video I need to make.
