I thought it'd make an interesting video, and it seems to be paying off!! Honestly, I just want to spread positivity about my favourite game. I'm hella biased! People saying cope or whatever is just a meaningless statement, I think the game is going to succeed, so the sentiment of outsiders is more or less just engagement. The more comments, likes, views, the more subscribers, and a further reaching algorithm! That must be why you got this recommended!

I play Smite 2 and even I have to say he sounds like an apologist. Saying the legacy gems are a sign of generosity is simply sucking at the teat. Before they announced the diamonds system they insinuated that it was just gems. It feels like a gross bait and switch.

Okay so, breaking this down. - OW2 is not a comparable engine change. OW2 is running on an upgraded version of the original engine- basically, they did a little optimizing and a little updates to allow for larger maps- which was intended for the PvE, but they scrapped the PvE because it woulda cost too much money! Shame. So, basically, the engine is unchanged by a gameplay perspective, and the only purpose for the OW2 update was to update the cash shop to an incredibly predatory version and nothing more. - Why is Smite 2 unnecessary? Did you listen to the video at all? Unreal 3.5 is unsupported by the entire gaming industry, new hires had 0 experience in the engine, let alone the excessively modified version Smite was on. Smite 1 has so many long standing bugs simply because they're unfixable, ten years of code, modifying the engine, and more made it impossible. They said themselves, stuff like fixing a Thanatos scythe bug would randomly break an item when built on Skadi, etc. Just random shit happening. Smite is not copying what blizzard did with OW- OW2 is blatantly a cash grab in every sense of the phrase- no functional gameplay changes, no new features, just removing their relatively friendly monetization to a horridly predatory one. I've been a HiRez """fan""" for as long as you have. I know their pattern, and that's why I have full faith in Smite 2. Smite is the reason they had the opportunity to make many new games post smite era, Smite is the reason they're still a company to this day. Smite 2 is a faithful adaptation that completely overhauls visuals, gameplay, and systems. They made the gem (now diamond) system more player friendly- it's more efficient to spend less money now instead of anchoring the price for the best value at $100 for gems. They didn't even have purchaseable skins until recently, and only after popular demand. Please watch the video, because you're basically parroting what the really dumb guy review was. I appreciate the comment nonetheless, but please, reconsider who you think is delusional. I'm watching their commitment- 3 dev q&as a week, updates every 2 weeks with bug fixes, balance changes, and QoL changes pushed almost every other day. The game is improving massively, and it's delusional to think otherwise. Again, thank you for the comment, please read and understand what I'm saying instead of ignorantly staying in your way. Look at the facts, use your ability to empathize with the developers, and come to a better, more informed conclusion. Take care, happy holidays!!

We've all been there! The free to play launch will bring a lot of players, new and old. As an experience player, I do find that the vast majority of the Smite 2 playerbase is very casual, so I'd take it slow, try to learn as best you can with videos and playing the game, and try not to feel very attached to your performance. You're not a bad person for being bad at the game, try and disconnect the stress of performance and find joy in improving!!

@@njax I don't mind throwing myself against a wall as much as I mind ruining other people's experience. losing a lane because of a bad player is probably frustrating to the average player. trying to find a new home after pokemon unite kicked me out with their lootboxes lol.

Good points. Most people don't get that if said uninterested players weren't into smite 1 then they absolutely wouldn't play smite 2. The game is dying and it's becoming time to put the nail in the coffin soon.

@@pandaexpress-hm1bci dont think its gonna die because as the only good moba on console itll always maintain a small deddicated playrebase its just that they cater to the pc players and dont make the experience good for halkf their playbase which is on console it wouldnt matter if theyre pc numbers were higher but theyve struggled to be relevent for a number of years now

@@bulmascoffee it's not going to completely "die" as in be empty like that for a while exactly because of what you mentioned But It's already losing players at a great rate and the game itself is just boring as hell now and doesn't feel interesting. Ranked is dead (according to Inbowned too) fineokay and elleon literally stopped making smite videos untill recently, and the devs don't even care so why even bother lol

I can't speak for a console player's woes myself. I'm PC only, never owned a console for very long in my life, outside of a Sega Genesis and a GameCube (I'm 24, but I'm under the poverty line all my life so I have no way of not getting hand-me-down consoles far after they were relevant hahaha) The thing is, there's far more premium currency available in Smite 2. Ascension Passes pay for themselves, and you still get the Legendary Skin for free. I think it's pretty fair, considering all the new cosmetics for Ascension passes are quite good! They said that on the battle pass there may be free ascension pass unlocks, so that will be very nice. Smite has been ""dying"" since season 3- people have been doomsaying from the beginning, and they always will. Fact of the matter is right now, Smite's player numbers have steadily been growing in a paid alpha. Things are looking up, and the free to play launch will bring a lot of people over! January is looking hype! The devs are listening, trying extremely hard, and doing their best. I understand the sentiment, but we also have to appreciate the insanely hard work they've put in to turn this ship around. I can't wait for January!!

The matchmaking is a HUUUUUGE pain point. Matchmaking updates apparently happening in January in preparation for the f2p update!! Can't wait- that and the increased player pool should make game quality a lot better after a while!

I was a bit copeful in the early days- I didn't realize how rough it was until CA3 where they totally revamped the game and just made it strictly "better Smite", and as another player with thousands of hours, I think we're gonna be eating good! It's a new era of Smite and I think the dev's commitment and hard work WILL pay off!!!!

Far more than ten thousand do every day in a paid alpha! F2P is gonna be a big launch! Concurrency isn't an important metric, but our concurrency is going up too! The smite 2 devs are putting in INSANE work and it's paying off. This game is amazing! Hell, people still play league even if the game's quality fell off a cliff, MOBAs are just fun and addicting!
