It has always bothered me that no one has tried to reverse this specific part of Sleep Image Visualizer from Gemini Home Entertainment, so I decided "fuck it", and did it myself. i have heard 2 song by this crazy frog and they are ; axel f and this one. Axel f is typical awful sog that is targeted for big masses but its very boring and also very annoying and musically i dont get much of/from it, but this im old now (fuck you ) is so very epic and interesting, such like unique song so i like alot. I needs to go finding more this music.

wow the official version has completely different riffs from top to bottom lol
And... am I crazy.... or is the official version a massive downgrade? Cake is my favourite band and I'm always dying for new songs (or, god willing, a new album)... but I find the official version to be hugely disappointing compared to this demo. It just feels... weirdly hollow, like the edge has been completely dulled. The missing intro is tragic. As are the missing "I wanna hold you responsible" vocals that segue from the chorus into the verse(s). The guitar riffs on the demo have been replaced with something that sounds more like what the band might passively play in the background while they give away a peach tree or something. Even the background vocals are a step down, in my opinion. I'm hoping this version represents a collaboration (it's technically credited on the compilation as CAKE + Noise for Now and wasn't mixed or mastered at the band's studio house in Sacramento-that, and Gabe Nelson and Paulo Baldi, who haven't been with the band since 2015, are credited on the released track, which suggests it's all old recordings... hopefully older than the version we've been enjoying from 2021) that was heavily modified from what might eventually appear on a future album. But maybe that's just me.
@@mikemoringI’d agree this version is not quite as good. the song itself is fine - it’s really just 1-2 ideas repeating, and it feels a little more “throwaway” than something they’d put on a formal studio album. hopefully this wets their whistle to releasing new music tho :)
@@jgaul3545 Yeah, 100%. What's really weird is that the version above is like a minute and a half longer, even. It seems like a much more complete song compared to the throwaway version released by Noise for Now. Confusing. I'm curious whether they'll release their full version on an album or if the fact that it came out on a compilation (presumably using recordings that are at least nine years old now) in this manner suggests they just ditched the track entirely and let somebody else mine what they could out of it for charity. Apparently they started playing two new tracks (including a new cover) at a concert a few nights ago... so hopefully we'll get more word re: the prospect of that forever-forthcoming new album in our lifetime.
