I Went to Ukraine to See What It’s Really Like in 2024
Join me on a journey through Ukraine as I explore three of its most iconic cities amidst challenging times.
I begin in Odesa, a city known for its stunning architecture and historical charm. Despite its beauty, the ongoing war is ever-present, with air alerts happening almost daily-some of which I experienced firsthand.
After a few days in Odesa, I travel to Kyiv, the heart of Ukraine and its resilient capital. While exploring its vibrant streets, I share my experiences, including tasting authentic Ukrainian cuisine.
I’ll end my journey in Lviv, which has been considered one of Ukraine’s safer cities for a long time.
Disclaimer:
This video was recorded in the first half of October and reflects my personal experiences during that time. The current situation in Ukraine has since worsened, with increased attacks by Russia. For your safety, I strongly advise against traveling to Ukraine at this time.

I’ll show you around Transnistria’s capital, Tiraspol, where people still live much like they did back in...

On my list: finding a nearly forgotten Soviet mosaic inside an abandoned sports center. But not everythi...

World’s Most Dangerous Hike: Would You Dare?
มุมมอง 120หลายเดือนก่อน
Join me at Hua Shan Mountain National Park, just outside Xi’an City, where I tackle one of the most thrilling hikes in the world. After a scenic cable car ride, I explore the park’s five peaks, each offering unique views and hidden temples. But the real challenge lies ahead: the infamous Plank Walk, a narrow path clinging to the cliffside, with sheer drops so deep the ground is out of sight. It...

The workers hit the wheels to check if there is a crack in the material. They need to produce a sharp sound, so this is why they hit it with a rod or wrench.
you are a lier - your room wasn’t the most luxurious hotel room in this city. I was visiting few years ago, stayed in a nice hotel, $80/ night and my room was large and comfortable. You made a mistake when booked you stay.
as i said in the video, i stayed at what was once the most luxurious hotel in soviet times. obviously it isn’t luxurious by today’s standards…
Thanks for the video! last month i visited Chișinău (and some cities in Romania) and i must say, that it was weird to me to find that the prices of hotels in Chișinău were more expensive than in Romania i think if you already paid 55$ for hotel you could pay little bit more and get a much nicer room i paid 60$ (per night) for much nicer new modern room in Chișinău. the food in the city is great and cheap. I ate at Saperavi (georgian restaurant) and it was amazing
i specifically chose this hotel to experience what it was like during soviet times :) and i think i ate at the same restaurant. it was soooo good !
Thanks for the video! wathcing you from Israel. I visited kyiv at 2019 and it was so nice and lovely, wish i will visit there soon again
Where is the war?
the war is mostly happening far in the east, but Russia does send a few missiles to Odesa and Kyiv as well (and even sometimes Lviv)
Thank you for another informative and immersive showcase of your experience, Grüß Gott
Hi! Glad you liked it! :)
America go home and take Zelenki together $$$$
❤❤❤
Thanks so much for sharing your experience. I ve been to Kiev in 2017 and I can say that what you showed is pretty much the same, despite the posts at maiden square, don’t know if the mall just beneath the square is still running. Hope better days for Ukraine
the underground mall at maiden square is still running :)
Soon a country called Ukraine will no longer exist.
I'm from mongolia I'm really love your content
Moldova is poorest country....Heh. But Ukraine?
you can calculate poverty by different metrics. if you look at the country’s overall gdp you can see that ukraine’s gdp is much higher than moldova’s
@unseen_hues I don’t think it’s right to take into account funding from outside. The country didn’t earn it and didn’t produce it. First, remove all these billions from this data and you can see what happens in the end.
Moldova is very beautiful and peaceful people.rich in culture green energy. Green . beautiful people
I hope Transnistria joins the Russian federation once Odessa is liberated from fascist Ukraine 🙏😢❤️🇷🇺
U r lunatic
I love your videos!! The fact that you explain everything is one of my favorite aspects. What I wanna know is why there's a statue of harry potter!?
Thank you! So they wanted to build a new statue near the university, so they let the students decide which statue they would build. And the majority of students chose Harry Potter :)
Bulgaria is so beautiful, incredible food, stunning scenery, but sunny beach is everything Bulgaria is not... Noisy and loud, extremely touristy with young foreign tourists doing what young foreign tourists do...... Nesseber is stunning, Bulgaria offers beauty in winter and summer..... But my favourite is the local food, WOW
your videos are so good
thank you :)
Another Great Video
Thank you !!
Moldova was also created by the USSR. The values and prerogatives of Moscow seem to live in many Eastern European Nations. Keep an open mind and watch out for the Babushka's offering Wine and Vodka.
06:49 in the *ocean?* 🧐
00:00:50 This is totally bs. There are so much luxurious modern apartments and hotels in Chisinau for 40-100$ per night. Maybe you got scammed, idk. I always book Dubai-like apartments in the center of the city. 😳
i was explicitly referring to luxury hotels from soviet times. last i checked they didn’t had dubai style apartments during soviet times in chisinău, did they ?
Hey
hi !
You're so frustrated cause Moldova probably 2x times richier and better than Ukraine my bad😅 btw we got referendum for EU so we are two times ahead of Ukraine ,so st
Visit India your channel would monetise much sooner as Indian videos go viral sooner 🤗
You are prettier than Bald Ben, who went in search of Soviet Mosaics. I assumed He was a Train Spotter as He travelled across Russia in some of His earlier Videos. I am not real sure what Ben Rich was actually promoting with His adventures in the far corners of the World? I have done my share of travelling, in 50 years of Exploring North America. I wish You well as You provide some insight into the World we all notice is becoming a very visible place.
Moldova will not go EU in future 10 years. For exploaring abandoned places who you dont know, you need local tour guide. You also need to have knowledge about alarms and security guard habits.
I've explored a lot of abandoned places by myself (you can check out my video about this huge abandoned amusement park in China if you like). The risk is part of the fun!
@@unseen_hues Then you are a very brave girl. But as in this case, you weren't able to film much because you didn't know the place well.
Stfu ,we already signed for EU we got Maia Sandu for 4 years more and referendum passed ,so st😊
great video, look forward to more adventures
thank you :) More adventures are cominggg
Bald and Bankrupt and His Buddy Johnnie FD both presented some Videos that display a different point of view of Moldova and the Trains they still are fortunate to ride. Dieselrog is another who presents the Hungarian Commuter Trains that endured for Decades serving the needs of Rural travellers inside Moldova. I think Moldova resembles North Dakota, and the trains that used to offer opportunities to Wanderers, in that region. Enjoy the area, it does appear to be the home of some lovely Folks. Thank You.
Ти си толкова красива! Искам да те целуна.! От България 🇧🇬❤😜😘😘

Totally u r the idiot one here 😂
Please do your homework before you put out the wrong information these are preserved plums you can buy them in bag in Asian stores all over the world
yea i did my research and if you look for these preserved fruits in chongqing everything that comes up are tourist scams. obviously i can only get information in english language and that’s what i found :)
😂😂 How they just say anything they think.....😂😂
I like trains so much. This has been my hobby for 15 years. The wagons you traveled in used to arrive on international trains from Mosvka and Minsk to the railway station in Varna, Bulgaria during the summer.
Ones channel is fast becoming a favourite for travel adventures
thank you !!
The title isn’t clickbait - in my definition this is the last remaining soviet night train where you’re consistently guaranteed to ride in an original soviet car with its original decor. If you’re lucky you can get a similar car on some other routs in the Balkans or former soviet countries. However, today most of the cars have been “upgraded” :)
