I came from the U.S. in 2015/16 to go to races there, along with several other tracks in AU. Surprised to hear that it closed.

Great race track loved coming over from perth to race there

Looking at the track on Google Earth the other day. One of the big light towers near turn 3 is lying on the ground with the 4 lights still attached. Looks like no video yet in that area between turns 3 and 4 and across the bridge where the bridge is near the pits.

Failed due to lack of spectators

I heard somewhere that its going to be turned into a container storage park dunno if it's true or not

So sad that Playford Council tied it up in red tape

Spent many a nights collecting cans during and after the night was done. Was there the night Phil Hereen went over the catch fence. :( The speedway isn’t coming back from here unfortunately

Way back in the late eighties I drove the push car occasionally, so, one night we were told to turn up at the track and don't tell anyone. Bit strange, turned out 2 or 3 formula 1 drivers wanted a fang in a sprint car. No media, just a skeleton crew, the f1 guys ( a lot of pit crew people) 2 sprint cars and the track in pretty good shape. It was amazing how fast the f1 drivers got the hang of it. Good Times.

It seems Adelaide is too small to have an actual speedway. But million will be spent on a 'temporary' speedway in the Parklands.

Why doesnt a group of investors come together and fix it up and bring it back to life .

I have alot of memories from going to speedway city as a kid every Friday night watching my dad race his speedcar RIP DAD

The minute Wendy Turner left it went downhill, not even premier pull the crowds this track did on Boxing Day. Huge loss to SA and the sport

Yes it's called sprint car cattle ticks and all their associates I raced bikes and sidecars the crowd wanted to see all classes in the sport of speedway racing but now you have invaded Murray Bridge and have a look at the crowd numbers you have and plus you screwed all the bike people!

Too bad the NSW Government didn't look at this.

We are losing to many iconic venues !

As a lad, I spent many many Friday nights hanging off the back straight fence Some drone footage would be cool. A fly around of the track etc

What a shame like everything else good we get here in Adelaide. Gets left to rot away

It's a shame was always good going to the speedway there on boxing day and other events

It hasn't changed, it is exactly as I remember it in the late 80s, even timing clock looks unchanged, so much that I'm guessing its identical to the one I used to operate at Northline in the 90s.

It would have to be empty to just sit up like that. I think if it was loaded, the landing would not be so gentle when it stood back up on its wheels.
