Loading screens are removed bc they can vary depending on the hardware the game is running on, and the ending run is basically a cutscene; nothing the player does can speed it up or slow it down

Ahh, thanks for the heads up! For some reason I just assumed the hurtbox extends above the ground. Will definitely use the jump strat when I come back through on ng+

You're probably ending up just short of the end trigger, try making the house bigger before dropping it out-of-bounds

Not Your fault at all, as far as I can tell it has a random chance of failing sometimes, on console or later pc versions. As long as you stand in the right place and jump+click with the right timing, you should get it at least 1/5 times, but it's not an exact science. No idea what causes this issue, it's only on level 1 and only on post-2019 game versions.

It’s an any% run. There’s several categories on the speedrun website.

The process is slightly convoluted. Assuming you're on Windows, you can opt into the earliest available steam beta (under properties, in the game's settings on steam), then make a copy of your game folder (Steamapps > common), download a patch folder from the game's speedrun.com page, and extract it into the duplicate game folder you made. Then you should be able to just click into that game folder and launch the game via the executable. Def make a copy of the game folder before doing this, otherwise you have to do a whole process to get back to main patch whenever you're done with legacy

@@arcmage7000 ah yeah I saw that steam beta thing before and didn’t think it was the legacy patch because I thought it had to say legacy on it🤦‍♂️ but yea I was able to do it by watching a video. I also downloaded the hot coffee mod and practice mod. I don’t really understand the purpose of the hot coffee mod, do you think you can explain that to me?

@@Ty_Bugz Hot coffee is the speedrunning mod, it hooks into livesplit. Practice mod is just for practice. iirc the name "hot coffee" is a reference to an old GTA mod, random in-joke by a guy who made the superliminal mod. He was before my time I think

Some of the tricks are possible on current game version, the warps should all work (Induction is more weird though). All of the portal stuff got patched, but there's new portal stuff that's also fast. I've got a playlist of any% guides on my channel, and there's a speedrunning discord for the game that's linked on the speedrun.com page

@@arcmage7000 I was trying to do the optical door strat and for some reason I couldn’t get to the spot. I followed the video and everything but for some reason something was just off. I guess it’ll take practice even though I’m able to warp I’m just not warping in the right spot

@@Ty_Bugz Yeah warps are just something you get the hang of over time. The level of precision required takes getting used to, over time you get a feel for which aspects of a setup you have to carefully micromanage
