honestly after listening to this whole thing maybe it's because I already listened to the original but this one seems like a much softer and optimistic version of the original, instead of feeling sadness at the final song I couldn't help but smile, happy at the resolution, even the journey of the post awareness stages was more comprehensible, even though still like the original the concept of songs and later notes and sounds meshed into nothing, it felt way more understandable and less harsh. honestly a great listen, might do it again if I have the time and I am bored

Hey I've been a small fan of yours for about 3 years ish now. I first found your music through your stage 7 add on to the everywhere at the end of time series. I first fell in love with your music and creations through that, and I've always found that your ambient tracks have a certain mood to them that is missing from most other similar artists out there. Myself, I am a very young inspired filmmaker and I've been looking for an artist to collaborate with on my last film before college. On that note I'm curious if you would be interested in assisting me or even helping create the soundtrack for my upcoming film. Once again, thanks for doing what you do, and keep it up.

The final year of the Very Dark 死 project is coming to an end. Very Dark 死 is a three-chapter story about a character living a mundane life, going through hardship and ultimately failing. The project doesn't contain a lot of written words. Every small fragment of descriptions, track, album and artwork titles, and most importantly, the music itself - all of it comprises the story. Each chapter description contains philosophical meditations of a character. Nothing from academic realm obviousely, just reflections on one's life, based on suffering and hardships. Written or spoken reflections like these can be seen quite often - people very far from "well-thought-out" and structured philosophy are trying to give some kind of analysis and explaination of a particular aspect of life. Usually, texts like these don't provide a lot of value to others, but it's hard to dismiss that internal understanding (that some people write or talk about) can affect their personal behavior and way of life. This exact aspect is used in Very Dark 死. One may argue that a "harsher" (in purely negative way) approach to life philosophy and constant self-reflection may lead to some undesirable consequences, even aside from the real reasons that caused a person to use such approach and think about life in a way that some may call "destructive". Others would say that it doesn't matter and those "depressive" reasonings are just a symptom. Very Dark 死 is not an attempt to finish this discussion. In a way, it can be interpreted as supporting either position. Speaking about music, Very Dark 死 is in Deathdream style, a niche subgenre of another niche genre (Vaporwave). Deathdream was never popular and never tried to be popular. Most deathdream releases are discovered by accident and don't have "proper marketing" behind them. First album, "Living Deathdream I" was released in May 2021, but it was made many months earlier. The idea of Very Dark 死 was born at about the same I made "Leaving Deathdream", an album that is part of Sapling.png project (December 2020). I learned about deathdream microgenre from PadChennington's now deleted video about the subject. Leaving Deathdream album was made in about 1-2 nights, right after I was inspired by the video essay. Editing techniques that I experimented with at that time, were then applied to other music planned for Sapling.png, but I quickly realised that it is not a proper direction for that project, so I created another one. Since then, each May and October for three years, Very Dark 死 albums were released. Creating a different alias for deathdream releases is also one of the ideas taken from the Pad's video. Just like the viewpoint that deathdream must die completely and all its projects must end. It is crazy how much ideas and inspiration came to me from that video and old deathdream albums from other artists. I'm not even sure if this feeling can be explained to someone who never experienced the process of creating music. The meaning and ideas behind VDD were (almost) never shared before, but the project's direction was always clear to me. No significant changes to the concept were made over the course of 18 albums. It was planned to be finished, to conclude, to die. Now you are reading this, maybe having heard this music before, or maybe not. And maybe one day this music will dissapear from everywhere, only remaining in memory of a few who once heard it. Until they will also dissapear, finally ending this genre for good. Perhaps this, is the ultimate goal of Deathdream. Thanks for listening.
