It is a very peaceful music
Whoever you are. Wherever. I pass this to you. With love.
Roddy's multi! Keyboard, guitar, vocals, drums...he's a band himself
Why is this not on Spotify?
This needs to be on spotify 😭😭
Agreed 100%. I’ve got it on an Indie compilation album called ‘Shine 6’ if that helps at all.
F_ck Spotify and all the music killer platforms.
Why so many changes in the members?
My Ex husband Jim Newman was the guitarist for society’s grudge. He has been sick for many years and our two adult children have never heard his music. I would love to get a copy of the tape for my Children if possible
this really needs some of mike's finest vocal approach
what a truly terrible song. sometimes "alt" just means stupid, trite and non-commercial. Horrible, irritating song.
Take it like a man boy
Saw them featured in mtv 120 Minutes way back when Dave kendall was hosting it 1993 I think it was
Roddy Bottum on drums wow
Omfg! My brain just melted. I suddenly remembered the full tune and the lyrics "you take it like a man, boy" and the pre chorus that starts "I'd pump your stomach if I thought" and that was it. Fortunately it was enough to eventually find the song my googling the exact lyrics of that pre chorus or I would have been relying on my useless memory to fill in the blanks! 😵💫 This was one of my favorite songs when I was 19!
This is an ear-gasmic tune from way, way back. And the magic still works.
Greatest power pop band ever….. I recommend not listening while driving…,..you will exceed 200 mph…. Fuck it…, Crank it louder and hit 250 mph
Amazing
Is this song about gays?
Hahahaha hahahaha 🤣
@@LightFromADeadStar Hahaha is not an answer. Seems like I am 100% right, and this is nothing but a gay propaganda song.
This is fabulous! Thank you for posting
Male low self-esteem anthem.
I like to imagine Ben wrote this to celebrate finally being brave enough to come out from behind the couch. You see, 2 years earlier he'd come home from school, popped the tv on and suddenly Rollins Band 'Low Self Opinion' had come blasting out, sending our young Ben Lee scampering behind the couch. There he quivered for almost a thousand days, surviving on hot pockets and colas his mummy would slide quietly too him. Then, one day the sweet sounds of Evan Dando playing an acoustic version of Being Around drew him out....
The "usual" masterpiece !!!

Anyone who’s feeling bad for anyone who hasn’t found this hidden gem of a band. Check out Ethan Gold. WHY THE F*CK are these bands getting no attention in this day of age where Pop Punk/alternative is making a comeback.
Was this band famous at one point in time?
Im confused about the fame level of this band. Were they ever famous? Radio hits? They have like no views and yet seem to still have all of these followers and songs… which quite frankly are all mindblowing and amazing, and I’m yet to find anything by them that isn’t. So what’s the story here…? They just didn’t quite make it, or…? I seriously need some answers. Who are they, where did they come from, where was their music played or heard? Where were their albums sold? WERE THEY FAMOUS AT SOME POINT IN TIME?
Любимая группа ! Спасибо !
Oh Hell Yeah.
Ben Lee was in that band
I saw them open for Hole in Cleveland 99. Great show!
I can't believe I found this song lol... total flashback. Thanks for uploading
Fucking love this band!!!!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
"Hey lady, you lady, cursing at your life..."
Simply great guitar pop! Somewhere between Grunge and the Pop of the 60's
"Take it like a Manboy". Thank you may I have another?
Such a cool band; one of my utmost faves and so underrated. So many infectiously catchy songs; so criminal they're not radio staples. IMO too one of the few 90s originate bands who still make genuinely great music. Love this video too ❤
Been looking for this for over 20 years.... typed into google you're one you're one and boom!! What did we do before google haha
Fucking love this, always have!
😻😻😻😻😻
I remember listening to this music video on MTV subterranean so long ago. Ah the good 'ol days.
average age of the band members when they started out: 14
A largely forgotten classic. It's referenced in the chapter "Shooting Up" in Patrick Norrie's Heathlands.
One of the best 90s alternative songs.
いしわたり淳治さんに感謝です。 対談してくれたジャンケンさんにも!
Bought this cd at boarders… can’t find this song anywhere, thank you
Was a big.push for this band mainly cause people thought Ben Lee was some genius , next Cobain/Dylan. Ultimately, just disposable, cliche alt rock.
Great song, couldn't remember the name, finally found it. My son is a great FNM fan. Roddy had a silent phone number (in the 90s b4 mobile phones). But in Australia it wasn't silent and my son found it. Him and his friends rang him one day, forgetting about the time difference. Ended up being 3am and Roddy wasn't happy!
I saw them about 5 times in SF between 95-98. Drummer is the hottest female rocker ever. The rumor was that the band members would all sleep with each other like true SF hedonists. Thanks for posting.
Gross.
I'm big into the Beastie Boys.....Grand Royal Records cd I bought...had these Guy's on......Top Tune...Worth a look...various artists Ben Lee Lucious Jackson etc etc class %))
Effortless cool from an age when great music was ever present and seemingly inexhaustible
I like the fact that the ending of the song, which most songwriter's would have made into a chorus, is instead just an outro. It's an underused idea, also seen (heard?) in Journey's famous hit Don't Stop Believing.
Holy shit. I’ve never seen this.... fuckin crazy. I love this band.
