I watched this movie, in large part, because of comments I’d read. The violence was very hard to watch, but the character was absolutely heartbreaking. It was impossible for me to see him as anything other than a gentle soul haunted by mental illness and cast aside by society. The violent Joker was the result of absolute neglect by a system that was supposed to help him.

Mental Health will be the biggest issue in the next twenty years, cause we have too many people in big cities and they are going nuts due to the lack of opportunities, housing, societal support, compassion and too much drugs and crime. Kind of like Victorian England with the gin ladies.
