فلم حربي جميل جدا
First broadcast on Christmas Day 1980
Please look up, and watch, this wonderful actor (ROBERT POWELL) in an older thriller movie, THE 39 STEPS. The book is grand; other renditions of the movie are good, too.
The Thirty-Nine Steps (1978) is my favourite film version of the John Buchan novel. It's closest to the book than the other movies, and the author's own family said he would have approved the dramatic ending!
The executioners story was a nice touch, they tend to be forgotten in crime dramas from this era.
23:49. The governor in the topper sounds uncannily like Peter Cushing!
Thanks for posting
12.26 You can hear where Guy Ritchie stole/used/copied the music for his Sherlock Holmes movies.
It's kind of a music hall-style tune and arrangement, which would have been common in this era (and Sherlock Holmes'. Though according to the books' setting, Cribb predates Holmes by 17 years). Then Hans Zimmer took this kind of music and smashed a mallet to piano keys.
That is one beautiful woman
Amazing.
no side kick with Cribb
Excellent
❤ Very Interesting
Brilliant! Thank you! 😊
Thank you so much for uploading this wonderful series.
Remember seeing these when they were first shown. There was only 3 channels on the telly then, but it was a case of quality, not quantity. I'm trying to find out where the swimming pool scene was filmed.
Loud buzzing spoils this classic production. Jar
Unfortunately I tried to clean it up as much as possible and without spending a bit of money on specific software or training in audio engineering, it's the best I can do. Hopefully you can find a cleaner recording in the wild as I agree that it's a great production of Kind Hearts and Coronets.
Excellent
Really intriguing story. Well played!
Alan dobie lovely voice 😊
Ooffttt,brilliant Victorian stuff,woohhho,more please!💜❤️🩷🤍🩶💚💙

Uploader you have this as the pilot in the title and the final episode in description. This is the pilot episode for those who are unsure
@AwesomeAngryBiker "Waxwork" the pilot episode is based on the final book in the Cribb series called "Waxwork", written by Peter Lovesey, as stated in my description.
@@WriterLilyth Were there any more made after the pilot? I’d love to see more of them.
@IM-jq8hp Yes, a single series based on Cribb books and specially written stories just for the TV Series. Another TH-camr has uploaded the rest of the episodes.
@@WriterLilyth Thank you. I will search for them.
What happened to Thackery
Never heard of this series - thoroughly enjoyed it - looking forward to seeing more.
Same, this one somehow slipped by me. Right up my alley too.
When is this from? I scour youtube for this kind of vibe. I guess we were too young to hear of it
45:01 ---- oh, the dreaded Derbac comb. Mum used to run it through our hair every Sunday -- followed by a good scrubbing with Derbac Soap on the very rare occasions she found anything. Happy days.
Brilliant ❤❤
Thoroughly enjoyed this.
Thank you so much. ❤
My absolute favorite is 19th century British Mysteries, or Canadian ones are darn good too. Fiction. And Cribb is my fav❤ Thank you! More please😊
Carol Royal is a very Beautiful and Charming young lady.
I saw her at the RSC production of Hamlet. She was beautiful and excellent. Her father was in the play too.
As the cast of characters was not in the description, I was hoping that someone in the comments would identify Miriam Cromer for me. Thank you. Ms. Royle was indeed a very beautiful young woman, and I will be looking for more of her work in other productions.
@@katiedotson704 1:17:42 has the cast list.
@@rjmun580 Thanks. Now all I need to do is learn to read. 😁
Fake history writing. Conk Bayırı's (Chunk Bair) peak has never been seized by the British. Conflicfts were on the shanks..

@@the_world_of_rebecca well, what a plot twist! Perhaps this film has a hidden meaning?
Robert Powell! Massive crush and the epitome of the watching embarrassing sex scenes with family members wandering in and out of the living room - sounds like Saltburn for the 70s! just finished reading the book and it was great to watch this little snippet... had forgotten it began with the end ... would love to watch the whole thing. Robert Powell was a perfect F Clancy!
Thank you for putting it up
I'm so glad many people find the film here every ANZAC Day and watch it.

Where are the other episodes?!
The Four Feathers (TV Movie 1978) / 6.4 When British Lieutenant Faversham resigns his commission rather than fight in the 1882 Sudan war, his army pals present him with the four white feathers of cowardice.
Sadly Beau Bridges was miscast as Harry Faversham. Robert Powell would have been better suited. Putting that to one side the great story carries the film along. Simon Ward, David Robb offered fine support and Jane Seymour couldn’t be faulted as Ethne. All in all a reasonably good TV version of the classic novel by AEW Mason.
I agree with the casting of Beau Bridges being a weak part of this movie! He's easily outshone by the rest of the cast.
F**ken great to see some bloody honesty regarding Gallipoli instead the constant Aussie gutless, idiotic, foolishness. At least Kiwis are willing to be straight up about this disaster.
I was a great fan of Cribb when it was first shown. Great to see this pilot episode. Shame more were not made at the time.
Even the stories that weren't based on the original books were just as good. They certainly don't make series like this anymore!
Chk out The Great Detective. Same time period but Canadian. Because if you like Cribb, you'll enjoy this series WHICH THEY DIDNT MAKE ENOUGH OF EITHER😢 Or they're not avail.? Enjoy!
@@kimmccabe1422 Thanks, I'll give it a look.
Thank you for this, my favourite.
Writer Lilyth, Thanks indeed for this pilot episode of Sergeant Cribb with Alan Dobie!
Wish they made more episodes, excellent drama!
This series is so good, grasping and historically accurate....
This is a forgotten gem of British TV
Agreed! A great series and wonderful book series too!
