I've ridden a 650b just in the rear (700 in front) because I needed the tire clearance for a fatter tire. Worked fine, could barely notice the geometry change. Allowed me to do 48 in the rear instead of only a 42, allowing me to float better on a sandy and rocky course. 48mm both front and rear. Turned a little faster, so made for better singletrack. And this is on an XL bike size.

It's uncool the way Lifetime is picking all these Euros over Americans for an American race series. It's all to make Lifetime seem more legit. Bad business move for entry sales for the average person.

While I love the entire field, lifetime need to find a nemesis for Keegan Swenson.

Have you guys considered that the Lifetime promotors are looking for people who can compete, if not best, the two-headed Keegan/Sofia monster? If it doesn't become more competitive, it could loose interest on the boring predictable obvious outcome that is another sweep win before the start of the final race.

Besides hearing Drews name in cycling with general following and now hearing him in this podcast I can say he comes off extremely arrogant. He may be great at cycling but his social skills and just general over does not come off as a good person. Only listened to him hear but his responses of just kind of coming from a "I beat you" complex and do not care to know you is just lame. Both would benefit from each other and it sounds like he was jaded against VC becasue hes not a "PRO". People like that are egotistical

I want to see Dylan compete against fellow TH-camr Macky, from the Syd and Macky channel. I know they run in different circles as one does more gravel and light XC races and the other does more hardcore XC and trail races, but still would be fun to see a cross-channel collab. They probably have similar fitness, but Macky would destroy on any course that was more xc gnarly and had more extensive technical downhills. Am also curious how Dylan would do at a week long stage race like Breck Epic MTB or Absa Cape Epic. We know hes a really good one day racer and has good enough endurance that he can do 200 mile gravel races.... but can he do 80 to 100 miles, wake up the next morning, and then do it again every day for a week.

If you are looking for a race in June and think the single track trails around the Chequamegon course look awesome ( because they are ), then come up for the Epic Bike Fest. It's a ~40 mile singletrack race between Cable and Hayward WI June 7th with a few sections of the Chequamegon ski trails tossed in to allow passing. The MTB race is Saturday and then on Sunday there is a Gravel race as well with a category for people who do both. Actually, don't come to this race, I did well this year and I don't need anyone else pushing me farther down on the results. :)

Next year do Iceman, and then hang out in Michigan for two weeks so you can do the Madison Nationals in Detroit. Elite race finals is “only” an 18 mile race, qualifying heat (if required) is only 12 miles. They allow disc wheels and narrow bars, but don’t allow bottles down the jersey though.
