I have a Lifetime Yukon 11'6" kayak that i put a trolling motor on, with a custom built motor mount. I also activated foot steering. It's still a work in progress. Foot steering, and pulley trim setup ideas thanks to @334tacticaloutdoors . Foot locks idea thanks to @SciStuff . Trolling Motor Shaft mount for steering thanks to @Aksmaniyak .

So i was out kayaking this past weekend on Sulphur Fork River in Adams, TN and about 8 miles into our 10.5 mile route we came up on a dam. i didn't know it at the time, but after posting it to a couple of my local kayaking Facebook pages they told me it turned out to be a low head dam. Evidently it can be pretty deadly to kayakers. I made a couple of videos during and after the event. My nerves...

Yes it does. It is just an extension on the original tiller stick. Just twist it and go.
It’s now November 2024. I would love to see a follow-up video on you kayak build solutions.
I took it out twice after setting it up. Then i bought a 14ft jon boat and the kayak kind of fell by the wayside. So i don't have any updates on the kayak. Sorry.

look into PWM, Pulse Width Modulator, $40-50 controller mod.... seems to be able to optimize Battery useage, as the handle controller uses same power whether its on 1 or 5..... Im setting up mine now.... tons of TH-cam Vid tutorials
