As a cancer survivor, listening to this just breaks my heart. I was both fortunate and extremely blessed to have a wife that stood beside me throughout my treatment even though other people we knew advised her to leave me during the early stage of treatment. In another 4 daays, I will be 3 years in remission and am still married to the most wonderful and supportive woman any man could ever want or desire. I give full credit to my Father in Heaven for such a wonderful woman, such a skilled surgeon as I recovered within 6 months of the operation to return to work part-time and then after 10 months, returned to work full-time. I am alive by the grace of God and by the grace of God, I am still cancer free

I was ill for about 7 months needed an operation on my bladder guess what my ex wife told me she wasn’t happy and wanted to break up a week before my operation a year later and divorce and custody our child I’m better and looking back I was with a toxic women who is a covert narcissist everything happens for a reason glad your ok brother trust gods plan amen 🙏

The husband has no right to ask her to pay him back for any expenses that occurred during their brief marriage! Rent, food, household bills…He was responsible for all of those things. Especially since he forced her to quit her job when they got married! It was a ridiculous thing to ask and I’m sure it was NOT awarded in their divorce!

It's a shame that non-Hodgkin lymphomas are not contagious. Otherwise, the wife and daughter could have shown what they're made of. Then these disgusting people can play Russian roulette to see if they survive non-Hodgkin's. The consequences of chemotherapy are extremely character-building. But it's a shame, karma is sometimes not a bitch.

My wife has stuck with thru my disease, it has been 11 years. We have been married 37 years. She will never leave me because of the love between us. I feel sorry for the generations after me because everything is disposable. No I didn't name my disease because not many people know of it.

It’s incredible what can happen in moments that involve health and or money. I watched my family abandon my grandfather after his dementia diagnosis. It was my mom and myself and that was it. One day, he had a moment of clarity and thanked me for not leaving him behind. I’ll never forget it.

I was diagnosed in December . Had one surgery done it went horrible .left me with severe nerve damage in my back and lower back . I wasn't able to walk for 3 months without a walker it wasn't for my best friend I probably wouldn't be here right now she did her best to step up and take the the heat . Meaning I wasn't the easiest person to get along with during this time Not only was I in a severe pain but I couldn't eat I wasn't able to have a bowel movement . 17 trips to the ER in 2 months . And it seems like no doctors were willing to do anything about it . I was ready to end my life just to make it easier on other people . I was given less than a year to live I'm about 9 months through it . The progress hasn't been good I was told its uncurable . and That i would be lucky to live a year . Prayers for healing for anybody that might be going through this crap I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy if I had one.. may God hold you all close.

I don't necessarily believe this story, but the narrative is true. This stuff happens: my sister left her husband after he broke his back and pushed hard for spousal support, leaving him completely broken & broke.

Thats the problem with marriages today. I can understand that it should be the happiest day of a womans life, but they seem more in love with the idea of getting married than they do their husband to be. And I dont think they're paying as much attention to the vows they make as they should. They've got to remember, marriage is a promise to God that your spouse is the only one to be intimate with forever.

I know many reddit stories like this are fiction but still entertaining to listen to. But sometimes it's hard to tell what's true and what's made up because this world is a crazy place.

I think the fact you provided for them so they didn't have to work gave them anything they wanted was part of the problem. Congratulations on beating cancer and starting a new life.

I had 8 rounds of chemotherapy over 6-months and it was horrible, I wouldn't wish that experience on anyone. There were days when I got home that I was so tired that slept 5 to 6 hours straight before I could even contemplate getting out of bed. There were other issues like hours of nausea, peeling skin on my hands and feet, and agonising pins and needles in my hands and arms, weight loss and others. I was fortunate, my wife did everything that I couldn't, and never once complained. I know it was hard work and added a lot to her life. Now, I am fit and healthy again and a little over 3 years in remission. There are some good partners out there and there are some crappy ones too.
