Something about canoe fishing for me, makes me feel a bit closer to the water. Jug fishing in a canoe and chasing down a monster flathead, with nothing but a paddle is a blast. However pound for pound the feistiest fish I ever caught on a jug was what's called a grinnel in redneck lingo, but is a Bowfin. A member of the ancient fish club. One of three that I know of in N. America also includes, Alligator Gar and Paddle Fish...Unfortunately Asian carp feed on the same thing as paddle fish and other fish as fry...So our paddle fish can't compete with massive numbers of asian carp. So me and a buddy go bow fishing for Asian carp. We've got some as big as 40 or so lbs... I never hunt Alligator Gar, they're the best defense against the invasive carp we have. Saw video a while back of some guys that got a 12 foot Gator Gar...Not cool. Happy paddling :)

I Picked up the same model. Needed floor work I removed the substandard cast deck. Am putting in a poly dry storage in with space for trolling motor battery, larger than existing . Then foam and install decking , with live well behind. Rod storage. Instrument battery and gas in back. Has three pedestal seats. Will put 9" and 7" SI, DI gen 3

That’s was some cool sh** bro. I would have thought about that hook release for about 20 minutes before I even attempted it. What a cool fish to catch. We’ve shined alligator gar with a light late at night, but never been able to figure out how to catch them. Good stuff thanks for sharing
