Even if george was involved in the show, I don't see how it changes anything about it to be honest.

The reality is, Disney owns the franchise and can do whatever they want with it. You can either continue to pay them to produce drek or you can live with your memories of Star Wars and conider it a dead issue. But posting videos on social media about your fanfiction ideas of how to fix a problem that doesn;t exist is jst an exercise in ego.

Too much of the EU stuff I ran across was little more than badly written fanfiction, so I find it hard to sympathize. I don't like the Disney stuff either. Seems to me the EU people should just band together, create their own new universe to play in and forget about Star Wars, its been corrupted by the dark side of the mouse anyway.

Anakin being denied the rank of master makes sense in both universes but especially in legends considering he was knighted a long while in the war and hasnt had much knight experience

The EU was never considered apart of lucas’s canon it was just an expansion of it.

The problem is the old EU Moment gave up so quick we need to band together and push Disney to continue the old EU comics novels and videos, not only TCW contradict retcons continuity and consistency from both George Lucas 1-6 and the EU but also have power scaling inconsistencies as most jedi and sith in TCW are featless

Even when i was younger and was just happy, to have new star wars and so was in love with the show, i saw that it was contradicting a lot of established lore. I was always a big star wars nerd, and I was totally confused when they revealed that Anakin was already a knight at the start of the show. I knew he was a padawan for at least a year or two into the war before being knighted, i hadn't seen the 2003 clone wars yet (not my fault, my sister didn't rent it for me when i asked because she thought it looked dumb at the time, i know she was dumb lol) but i had played the clone wars video game where Count Dooku reassembles the Dark Reaper superweapon from the Great Hyperspace War.

i was under the impression that the eu was full of overpowered stuff or rubbish stuff that wouldn’t make sense because we don’t see it later on the timeline i wish they would readded it

I really liked clone wars but seeing this opened my eyes that everything after episode 3 kinda went to crap lore wise

I am a fan of TCW still but I prefer the stories from Legends like Republic Commando and the campaign story from The OG Battlefront 2.

Yeah, the little part toward the end where you said that the Disney timeline was more consistent has aged really badly. The Disney timeline made more continuity errors in its first ten years than the original EU did in all thirty seven of its run, even with TCW included in it. I wouldn't be too surprised if by the end of this decade, one of either of the following two things happen. 1.) Star Wars will get another continuity reset, where literally only the movies and TV shows are canon and absolutely nothing else. Or 2.) The franchise will be rebooted from the ground up completely with the Original trilogy being remade for "modern audiences." No matter what the future of the franchise holds, there is nothing Disney could do that will ever take my love of what Star Wars was away from my heart. Long live legends!

Legends isn't as good as people remember. The Yuuhzan Vong Saga still remains one of the worst pieces of storytelling in the Expanded Universe and in many cases it even struggles to stay consistent with itself seeing as all the books are made by different writers and with little to no oversight from George Lucas himself.

At least this answers why when I watched playthroughs of Empire At War (specifically the Zann Consortium campaign) the Dathomirian witches have the abilities to take Rancors and their abilities as well as Silri with her own pet rancor Cuddles, including her force powers and yes why in that same campaign, early on, told about the most powerful Mandalorian clans would defend their station to the death

I prefer the EU but not everything the EU has is as good as you make it out to be. Palpatine cloning himself and the Yuuzan Vong are 2 major things i dont like, I think the grisk from Disney canon is a better threat in place of the Yuuzan Vong. But theres no reason to bring back palpatine, itd be more interesting if the sith went to a mild in between of the rule of 2/ old Republic times. Basically having darkside force users go into a frenzy because palpatine wasnt actively supressing/ controlling ever force user that was born. Besides palpatine becomes too unbelievable by coming back from death, while the literal chosen one, just dies cause, weak armor. Id love a mara jade/luke skywalker Jedi order vs old imperial inquisitor/sith order but becauee neither side is burdened by the rules of the old orders we get to see new ways they use and interact with the force. Just my opinion tho.

Forget that these Disney fans trick themselves into believing the EU was "never canon" to George Lucas, the bottom line is that following that metric, by what is "canon" to George Lucas, Disney Star Wars would be even LESS canon to him than the EU was, as George himself admits "they weren't too keen to have me involved anyway." They threw out his story treatments. So it's pure hypocrisy on the part of the Disney fans.

I have found another inconsistency: In Expanded Universe Gardulla the Hutt was killed by Jango Fett. But in TCW she is alive.

Disney doesn't look at their wallets or prophets when trying to decide the future of Star Wars or any other brand that they own. They look at their agenda, and how badly they can fuck us all over and still keep gullible fools buying their products.

Lucasfilm killed Legends to do their own thing, yet they include aspects of it into 'Canon'. Do I smell hypocrisy?

Imagine if Disney went with the EU plotline for the sequels instead of what they made up. Actually they probably would have ruined that too. Seeing the real Thrawn and the Vong on screen would have been cool at least.

I see your complaint right off the bat, but terms like "basically" and "for the most part" inherently imply that there's something you're leaving out. This is debate tactics 101. You should basically seek to leave these words out if you're trying to make a strong argument, for the most part.

This video will stand as a legendary testimony, for the future star wars fans that actually will look beyond the superficial dressing of the tcw tv show. The fans who will read the books and find that what came before was better than what tcw presented to you as a child. There is a reckoning coming, a day where the divergence of casual fans and the actual nerds comes to the forfront of the fandom, and I forsee that the casual fans will walk away when they realize that they'll actually have to read a goddamned book.😮

It doesn’t even matter anymore. Filoni has his way and has blazed through canon. And yet the supposed fandom gets mad whenever anyone crticises either Filoni or the destruction of consistent canon.

I don’t understand why they couldn’t make new characters for the cartoon. What they should have done was create an average Jedi not seen in the EU comics. By doing that route there would have been no sort of continuity errors.
