The female and male 9DR behaved similarly, they slept all day, no reaction to food. Only the 8 DR male was energetic and looked healthy. In the evening, the female became a little more alive, we hoped that maybe it would be fine.. Unfortunately, an owl attacked at night, knocked down a female and a healthy male, and also messed up the young 9 DR 🙁 This time the parents were not vigilant enough, they did not protect the young.

Yeah, thought the same. Horrible this happened, but it can be prevented. I do wonder though if this is a mistake in them not sensing danger when they can't fly yet.
