Aloha my 🍑!
PARADISE tax...
No, don't visit first. Just go and let the chips fall. Going for a visit and back, then back again is quite expensive. If you don't like it....leave, or just deal with it. Sometimes a visit doesn't give the real experience of how it is to live someplace. You'll never know unless you try....actually living there is the real way to see if you like living there. By the way, Hawaiians and the Hawaiian Royal Family used to be Black, Look up the history of the last Black Queen of Hawaii...Circa late 1800's. Also, many other states have areas that are just as expensive as Hawaii.
😍😍😍
Thanks so much for this!! I was expecting online shipping to be $$$$ so thanks for confirming that.
Hawaii give people tons of food stamps and they have housing voucher programs.
If you never meet me u not from Hawaii
I like the way you speak and express yourself. Great facial expressions.
If I close my eyes and listen to you.. You definitely sound like a beautiful white girl Omg?! When I open my eyes and look at you..you look so beautiful inside and out. Aloha.
Im really excited about moving to Hawaii im picking up a 2nd job just to and have a few dollars in my pocket
Hi! Thank you for your video sharing your experience. I'm currently thinking about going to school there and I've been trying to find videos such as house hunting and pros and cons. Nice to see it from other points of view!
Im a student, im from NY, but Hawaii seems like the place for me. I'm scared to move, but ive seen some apartments cheaper than NY, which is great, but yeah, I want to move, but im scared to leave the house😂😂 You know, like to finally move out of my fam's house.
With the title "paradise", people are gonna have high expectations.
Maybe they should call Hawaii what it really is, "the port of hell" and then people will know what to expect when they go
California has the same history as Hawaii, but the people in Hawaii aren't assimilating per capita as the Californians.
I just went on vacation to Kauai earlier this month and fell in love. (I have been to maui before but loved Kauai more). I made the decision that I am moving there next summer. I am not sure which island, most likely O’ahu because of my career being more in demand there. But I just feel like I belong there. I need to be there!
In my experience, go to Oahu. You can always have long weekends on the outer islands. I moved here 15 years ago and it's the best decision I've ever made!
Kheli Thank you! 💕
learn Pidgin
Simone you look like the younger version of the famed model and chef, Bev Smith..
DO THEY HAVE WAL-MART & DOLLAR TREE? IM GOOD! LOL
Wal Mart yes. No dollar store.
@@kulikuliurwaha5492 except for daiso tho
🤣
My ears are bleeding ! Please, as a college educated person, stop saying "like" in every other sentence.
Sorry about that. I also say literally a lot 🙈. I’ll be working on it 😼💪🏽
Simone Allen Just some constructive criticism. You kick ass.
That comment was unnecessary and unkind!
Hi from Atlanta and will be vacationing in Maui soon! Can’t wait! 🌸🌺🌸
I thought you could bike everywhere
Thanks so much for the video
Thebus is ranked pretty high nationally for bus systems but I completely agree Honolulu without a car blows.
It's maybe a little diverse at University but Honolulu and Hawaii island are not diverse at all.... Atlanta is Diverse, New York is diverse. Hawaii is Asian Period don't get it twisted... I hate it and the Blacks are not even friendly to other blacks. I live here and it's a concrete high priced urban ghetto . i.e like living in veitnam....
im moving to Hawaii soon and im trying to find a house to live in or apartment. I will need a car to get to work. So do you know a good company to help me find a place to live at
Respect the aina respect the locals and everything will be fine... 🤙🏽
I meant you will make a lot of new friends.
You are very accepting and open minded and glad your enjoying the islands. You can tell after listening to you that you will make a lot of friends? :)
do residents island hop alot or is it tedious?
What a neat summary coming from a young person. We are from Houston, two daughters in college one here and one in L.A. and a son in 11th grade but after a recent visit to Oahu husband and I are sure that we HAVE to move🍍😍! was concerned about telling my son and turns out he is more ready than we are!!! lol! We are self-employed in the business of WINE and photography we believe we will find or create work to earn our living. The Air condition on the bus was crazy cold but at $5.50/day pass you can't beat it! Before we discovered it, a couple of uber rides for us ranged from $17 to $64 one way around Honolulu and Kailua wasn't even rush hour. Even If students split the fare it would still be expensive. Anyway, you are a strong and charismatic young lady. Best wishes in school, thanks for sharing!
I lived in Hana, red sands is my fav.
Don't forget the Chinese and Filipinos! I'd say the warmness of the people is a big plus. The other good thing -- much less anger than on Mainland here.
Hi, you never mentioned native Hawaiians. It seems they did not exist among all the ethnic diversity you found in their country. In fact you did not mention them neither in your "pros" or "cons"! That was so weird!
Right about the Bus meatwagon freezertruck. I live in the country, and use a bike to get along OK. Check Hawaiian Mami on You Tube for stuff on Afro-Locals "Grown here, not flown here". I'm what people used to call a "Coast Haole", a native of California. I've on,y been called "Haole boy" by friends, but maybe I should tell all about False Cracks to scare others. I am the first to live here in my family, but two of my Grandma's brothers were here on Dec 7th. My Mom's brother lives on Hawaii now as all his friends on his last job were Hawaiians. At least he is in Puna mauka, and won't get falsed by Pele.
I lived in Japan and vacationed in Korea when I was younger!! And it is absolutely the best, I'd pick Japan or the US any day haha
another con i have for hawaii is that the wintertime can be relatively chilly and the ocean water can be pretty chilly also. after april its nice usuall and before end of nov.
i filed complaints about how cold it is on the bus. they over air condition supposedly for tourists, but it isnt right.
Chris F oh wow I thought it was silly my husband was so impressed with the cold climate of the bus ride. I didn't have a sweater, had to wear my sarong as a shawl to be comfortable all the way getting from Haleiwa to Honolulu ...sooo cold.
Why don't you send a comment to the bus company to keep the temperature like at 20°C and not at 17°C, plus I don't know how far you travel daily but I use a mini Segway and that helps compliment the bus trip or replace the bus ride if I have to!
I love da bus cuz it's good for da AC😂 and cuz of the memories
I stayed on the Bus, it was cheap and you got two free transfers.
Lived there for 3 years and it was the best experience in my entire life and I was in the Marines which means that I traveled all around the world while I was there. It's my othr home.
I was in the Navy back in 1986 I was stationed and I lived in Ewa Beach and enjoyed it.
Besides the crap that I just commented about me your video is really helpful people who post pros and cons and what’s it really like to live in Hawaii shows people what it really is which is beautiful
The only issues I have here is Blacks don’t speak to each other, it’s like passing through a ghost. Other than that I love it
Ok im waiting if I get this job there so money wont be to bad of a problem, If I get the job they will ship my car for free(no bus), I live in florida so most of the time its flip flop weather regardless. Its like blazing hot here so im pretty sure i can adapt to Hawaii weather. I guess i can buy my Korean groceries there with ease.
You sound like you had good parents... good attitude.
Aye what's your Instagram?
i will buy u car
Insects is a con , pro is ppl are less shallow
You're right - Ala Moana Beach Park is yucky.
James HIgbie Hey! Lay off Ala Moana Beach Park sir! 😂😂
