Got a NS2EX compact 2nd hand but in prestine condition just few weeks ago. I used the Electro 6 but never happy with that different organ sound, being also an happy owner of Nord C2. The organ of the NS2ex is definitely closer to the C2 than the Electro. And the synth section is a blessing as well the two different slots with which you can drive 6 different parts. I would say that in 2024, with all the workstations by Roland, Yamaha and Korg offering more solutions, definitely the NS4 seems overpriced IMHO.
the keyboard sounds amazing, but you're no joke too
Really interesting video. My Nord Stage 2 Compact is still going strong (after 12 years!) and I keep putting off replacing it. Would love to get a Stage 4 but not sure I can justify the price. I often wonder if there’s any noticeable difference between the Stage 2 and 4 when it comes to sounds like pianos. Yamaha YC73 seems an obvious second choice, will be great to hear your experience of it.
@@dannycassidy9754 Thanks for your input Danny. I totally understand your position. I wouldn't switch just for the piano sounds if I were you, especially if your stage 2 is not giving you any hardware problems. I don't think I would have done if my stage hadn't started "playing up" with those knobs...
I had mine serviced last year. New key contacts and also fixed a broken pitch wheel. Hopefully I’ll get another few years out of it!
I cann't play one note on a keyboard/piano however, I've always wanted a nord.
Excelent video!
Very nice video and playing. Subscribed.
Mine started having the key cutoff issue, which is a shame because it is a great keyboard. Unfortunately, korg quality is not good. This is my second Kronos with issues.
Nicely done. Breefy! 😅Subscribed
❤❤❤ plz upload videos on guitar lead voice like Jordan ruddes
Very good! Do you remember when we used to play (and study) in Ripoli in the 80's 😮? We were (and surely still are) on the same "Wavelength"... Now I am a passionate and collector of vintage analog synthesizers (GREAT INSTRUMENTS from the past!). Let's keep in touch
@@synthesis74 Ripoli? In the 80s? Come ti chiami? 😀
We were classmates in middle school. 😮
I’m distracted by your apartment. Looks so nice.
My local store is selling a korg kronos x for 1200 , what ypu guys think about that price is good or is to expensive ?
Nice set up bro
Thx for sharing…i own a Kronos and it’s really hard to operate lol but glad to come across your vid
Good tutorial. Indeed, for a beginner, it's important to identify the essential parameters that will have the most effect on the sound.
Which one is recommended for solo keyboard live gigs (outdoors, for example in a park) or solo digital piano live gigs (outdoors, for example in a park)? Mono sound with 1 PA speaker, or Stereo sound with 2 PA speakers? Thank you! (PS. I'm sorry for the multiple comments earlier, I deleted them already, it looks like I can't type well enough on my phone's small screen.)
Bravo! great sound! I was just working on an organ sound and thought I'd give tihs a listen. Very nice sound and similar to my approach. I would recommend adding the Key Amount to around 20 to both patches to brighten it up and give it that glassy teeth sound. I was struggling with the mod wheel modulation and still feel that it doesn't quite get it. I love your idea of using the shape mod for it though. I just increased the modulation frequency which got closer to what I wanted.
dear Alex i have one question: i have almost same setup as yours - but my question is: Which kind of cable do you use conecting KRONOS to KEY LARGO mixer ? do you use TRS ( stereo cables ) or TS mono ? is there any difference on stage ? thanks
What I find interesting is that you can use also MOD7 (basically an OPsix) to mimic classic synth circuitry by using the modulators to manipulate filters and LFO as well as to produce tones, provided you understand how the circuitry works (usually written in the manuals.) That's something I find fascinating.
Hi. Is it possible to link the Giant sound to the Casio on board sound system? Is there no problem with evental lag in that case?
Hello. I'm considering a purchase. Would you buy the Prophet 10 in 2024?
I learnt along with you, and gained more appreciation of what I can do with Kronos, so cheers!! 🍻
Thanks for your kind comment, my pleasure...
yes yes yes. the korg kronos x is my all time favorite synth that I own And I own a lot of synths to include the roland fantom G and roland fantom 6 as well as the yamaha motif xf and lots others
Absolute nightmare to use as a midi instrument in DAW .
I have one for about 8 years..still My favorite keyboard.. glad I know your Channel today.. Thank you ..
Almost everything that’s non-piano sounds like a toy keyboard. Close, Casio, but not nearly close enough.
Great video, thank you !
Ti ascolterei per ore.. ❤
Très belle composition ! Bravo !
Merci mon ami!
Which Rhodes sample did you choose on your Nord?
It's either the Nefertiti or the close ideal Mk1. I boost the low and mid frequencies with the eq. One of the two but I don't remember now, sorry. Thanks for your comment :)
I guess it’s the Nefertiti 👍
@@1970piano I think you're right. It sounds alright for a 2011 keyboard, eh?
@@alpao74Yes, absolutely. I still have the Nord Stage 2 too…
Awesome! 👍
That was great. I'm not too bad say with using my DeepMind, but always found it difficult with lots of menu diving. This has shown me how to navigate much better. Thanks.

Hi, great review, is it possible to play VST through the built-in speakers of the Casio GP 510, after connecting an external audio interface?
Hi! It isn’t.
Nord steg 4 or korg kronos 2
For those that don’t know, the “Berlin” piano is a Bechstein piano sample. The “Hamburg” piano is a Hamburg Steinway piano sample. And the “Vienna” piano is a Bösendorfer piano sample.
Thank you VERY MUCH for this, Alex! I’ve had my Kronos since 2012, and I learned more about it from your video than in all those years! 👍🎵
Sain kiinni "joulupuu on rakennettu" kotona harmoonilla pelas.
subbed. i own a korg kronos 2 - 88 keys since the 2015, from the beginning, its underrated............difficult but if you see inside of that beast its one of the best thing you can buy
Interprétation magnifique !
Too many parameters. It’s like programming on a photocopier. The Fantom is so much easier with its simplified purpose-built interfaces for specific synth emulations. Even tho Kronos has the MS-20 and Poly-Six interfaces, they are still subject to the tabs and tabs of other parameters that affect the sound.
Very cool🎶👌🏼 allow it to flow 😄💪🏼✌🏼
Super cool job Alex 🎶👌🏼 and great gear 😁🎹👍🏼✌🏼
I'm dancing around my kitchen... nicely done!
Well done Alex , nice glasses, Kayden
I have purchased GP510 a couple of months. Now in the Vienna mode some notes (A4, Bb4, C4) produce noise. It’s not clear sound but there is some trembling noise on top of the sound. Any idea if this can be fixed or should I contact Casio?
Come on dude...I feel like I need to cover one eye and keep one leg off the bed to keep from spinning while watching your camera's anti-focus feature.
Stop complaining about everything and learn something bro.
Haha a little annoying yes 😂
Thanks for this review. I have just ordered the Casio GP-310 as it was a little cheaper.
How is it going ? 🙂
