Fond memories of my visits to Tahiti, but why is this video shown reversed? All the writing, the cars look like British, Japanese or New Zealand cars with the steering wheel on the right and driving on the left, and the majority of people left-handed - everything backwards. Depth of field is too shallow in most of this video to enjoy it. I have a 4k monitor by the way. shame as its really well done, just wanted stopped down a bit to get more of the image in focus. cheers
Macro, by its very nature has very little DoF. A lens can only be stopped down so far before lack of light becomes the biggest issue. Addressing that is easy enough on still life, but much more difficult on moving subjects as there is here.
So don't use macro, 70-200 zoomed. You can't be the first to come across this on a product shoot. Been there done that.
Mark Shihadeh I can't help feeling you've missed the point. It's a 4k video of macro shots, not a product shoot from a portfolio. A 70-200 zoomed isn't macro, it's just, well, zoomed. You can argue that a lot of the clips here aren't true macro if you apply the technical definition, but they're very different to long lens shots and still make for great viewing.

If I would have hired you I would have had a problem with focus. If you have to explain something to a customer then you already have a problem.
Sometimes too much clarity and technicality can give you a headache. This made me long for a 16mm Arriflex, B/W version with a real musical score.
