RC Flying Life

I am a gadget addict. I have FPV drones and a few DJI bigger drones. I also have quite a few RC Planes that I fly a couple of days a week. I love photography and capturing video to make the best video's I can. Too many gadgets to count.

This video was take with my DJI Avata 2 drone. I have been messing around with the filters and seeing if I can see any improvement. Not sure on this yet. Filters really have to be clean and smudge free or video will suffer. Time will tell I guess.

This video was shot with the insta360 X4 mounted on the Evoque 5 inch drone. I am really liking the results from this camera, but I did get some sun spots in parts of it due to the early evening position.
DJI Avata 2

This is a video shot with my DJI Avata 2 drone. Sunny day, with the ND16 filter. The challenge is getting enough light for the shade without blowing out the sunny areas. I also wanted to set the frame rate to 30fps at 4K. Shutter speed was set to 60. Also shot with EIS turned off and let Gyroflow do its magic.

This video was shot with the DJI Avatar 2. I put an ND16 filter on it. Manual mode. 4K 60, 120 shutter, 400 iso and no rock steady. Ran it through Gyroflow. Also shot in D-Log M

Just a short video with the Avatar 2. Love this drone more every flight. If you have one of these, I would recommend getting the Controller 3 as an alternative to the motion controller. I have been flying in Manual as well as Sport mode, both are good. Sport will give smoother video. Also I have not figured out a way to land with the controller in either sport or manual mode, so I put in normal...

What setting do you use?
@@captainbritain6737 The main settings I changed were the rates. Center Sensitivity is 20 for all three..Roll, Pitch and yaw. Max rate is 250 for all 3. Expo is 20 for all 3 and Max Vel is 250 for all 3. It flies great indoors with these settings

Yep it is a great park and there are a couple more locations in the park to fly. I have gone back to using Davinci Resolve for editing and I had forgotten how good it was.

Thanks. That camera really does a great job. I think some of my reflection comes from the lens guards, but I really need to have those on when I do the flights.

Thanks Mike. That camera is amazing. Editing is a breeze, but you really have to think outside the box when doing it. I probably still have more to learn though. Just a heads up on the Premium lens guards. I got them and returned to Best Buy. Really not good quality.

Wow! Nice did you look to see how far you went from home. Lots of trees also. How was your signal strength? I'm curious to see the difference in a rural area with less interference!
The signal strength seems to go up and down and I have noticed that sometime it goes to 35 and then back up to 60. I think I used to just turn around but now experimenting with pushing it farther and seeing what happens. The distance on this video is about 1000 feet or so. I will pay attention next time I fly. Not any less interference though because of all the trees.
I was waiting for that first video from home! Wow that must be fun to fly there. So much open space and beautiful trees. Boy if you crash into that tall grass you'll have fun finding that drone. So what's the high temperature up there now? enjoy 😊
Yes I always forget how great it is to fly in my backyard here. Been raining all day today and grass continues to grow. I think the high today was 63 or so. 60 right now.

I did not look to see how far away I was. I will check next time I fly there.

I used the motion controller. Much easier to navigate.
Neat video Jerry! I have 1 1/2 more days in cool Connecticut then back to the inferno! I'm watching this video thinking, Why would you need an drone to do real estate fly throughs. This x4 can accomplish the same quality and probably better and have more flexibility with the footage! What are your thoughts on that?
Actually people are using them for 360 still shots of homes for sale. Not sure how good the video would be yet. Drone video is going to be much more stable. Enjoy the nice weather. It has been quite warm here since you left.

Thanks for watching . It is really a beautiful area of FL. The Air 3 is made to do a flight of this type and has incredible range. The Avata 2 I would not really do a flight like this over water. I am sure it could handle it though.
That video date and title looks like you had the Avata 2 about a month ahead of everyone else 🙃 The picture quality looks considerably better on your other vids recorded with Avata 2 vs this one. Would you say that there is a big improvement in the Avata 2 camera and sensor? How about the flying experience, balance etc? Same or better withe the lates Avata?
I am sorry I have not replied to your questions here. I think that this might be the Avata 1 and not the 2. The 2 here is referring to the date. The Avata 2 is for sure much better. Thanks for commenting. The Avata 2 is much better all around though.
Looks like you're really enjoying your Avata 2 🙂 Are you flying with motion controller? Is it the native Avata 2 stabilization or stabilized in post with GyroFlow? Everything is smooth like butter.
I really like the new Avata. I am flying with the motion controller. I have the Avata 1 as well and never liked how it felt with the regular controller. I have rock steady turned off and use gyro flow. That is what makes it so smooth, although this drone flies pretty smooth. Thanks for watching the video. Let me know if you have any questions.

Beautiful video Jerry! I'm just curious, how do you fly and see when you're going when you're gimbal is aimed up into the trees? That section of video towards the beginning of the video is stunning!

Currently using CapCut. I had been using Davinci Resolve for 3 years or so, but CapCut lets me do everything I need with a fraction of the time. Would be great to fly Sunday and I am also happy to find a couple people with like minded passions.
