Great stream, Nice ending with Hawkwind talk !!
Pic is Claudia Cardinale in OG inner gatefold of blonde on blonde.
Bad brains?? It’s a Bad religion
That Bad Religion record is awful- that is a pretty crazy find though. Wish I had extra cash- like to get thet chrome record.
That stevie wonder is MINE
I don't think I've ever seen anybody who "knows what he's doing" put his fingers ALL OVER THE GROOVES on a vinyl record. I'm sure they sound GREAT with the dust/ dirt, greasy fingerprints all over them...really...?
Why yes they do sound excellent, so excellent a well known mastering engineer name checked me in Stereophile magazine....really....
Ha ha I had two browser windows open at the same time. One was playing Jenseits, the other was playing Freak n' Roll....WOW, now THIS is different!!I thought. 'OHHH I MUST GET THIS ALBUM!!!'....then I realised my error. Shame though, it's not quite as amazing as I thought it was. :)
are you selling this vinyl?
came back to stream and its cool movie...ok
I know I'm 4 years late commenting, but I prefer the GP Richmond cut. I can say definitively that the Strawberry press would be last on my list. Don't really care for the other German press, either. I do recall you at one time having a WLP cut. I liked that one a lot.
Nice tribute to Paul Di’Anno guys. Well done 👍
Paucek Meadows
When ur in love...u put this album on, on the way home so u can spend some quality time with the one u adore❤
I have an George Piros Specialty Pressing of Physical Graffiti with AT/GP on all four sides and it really sound great.
Great episode, too bad I didn't get out of bed this time lol. So good to see you George! @ghborden
Nice Music Talk Drinking Stream Patrick 😎 Nice too see George Back 🤗
Bring back the Van gelder report!
Metallicas last album was Justice
Happy Birthday Patrick ! 🎵🎵💜💜👈😺🤓👍 ... My Cat told me to give you our best wishes . We heard it on Rachel's that it is your birthday . I've been wrong before , wishing others also , because she was only kidding on her show !
Nunca había oído tantos detalles, es la mejor versión
What hz value does this album have? Anyone know?
After A/Bing this with the original CD (for the first 3 songs) -- the og had more compression (not limiting...compression) so it sounds more rocking and more exciting than this mastering. All 3 songs varied though. Loungefly sounded similar to the original mastering whereas Meatplow has significantly more low mids and lows on the og. There's more airy high end on this 45rpm, less lows, and less mix compression vs the og, in general. Seems like this vinyl probably has more detail and resolution than the CD though. This is probably a little more like what they were hearing in the studio during mixdown, but not the way the world is used to hearing it.
While i can't believe this wasn't instantly automatically pulled down, thank you for this. Was thinking of buying this but wanna make sure it sounds at least similar to the og CD, which was awesome. This video should be suitable for a quick A/B (obviously this is now a digitized low res copy, but still useful)
I know that this is an old video by now, but it's important to point out that the sound clips were not volume matched - that is, they might have been volume matched by peak level, but since sample B (the Mofi version) had much heavier bass and a subdued treble it sounded a lot lower in volume, so it also sounded a lot less "exciting" for that reason. The UK plum (sample A) was the thinnest of them all and therefore sounded louder and more exciting. When there are such great differences it's difficult to match the volume levels between them.
I'll buy this someday soon. Among my top 25 all time
Damn the pressing quality is horrendous. If I get this, I’m sending it back. That noise on the intro to side 2 is bad.
I don’t think RKS got this one right. His mastering is far too dense in the middle. The OG has space and strong drums. He wimped out the drums on this. OG purple translucent all the way!!!!
You're the same person who says this on every Purple release comment section on Discogs. I'm starting to think it's your system that isn't great because the OG purple translucent isn't the holy grail that you say it is...
@@SmallPersonRoo not holy grail. But better than this release imho. My system is wonderful and so are my ears. RKS biffed the sound stage. The OG has a ton more space and separation. RKS balanced everything out. That is not a good move on this album. It all just runs together. I love the clarity of the RKS cut. But it deviates way too far from what was cut in the 90s. Also, I compared the CD to the purple translucent. The purple translucent is not the CD mastering. I am thinking the tape was used to cut the purple but who knows. You don’t I don’t. I am just telling people don’t believe the hype. There are others underwhelmed too. I think you may want to actually compare them both back to back. RKS got Core correct but not this one. I almost feel like the wrong mixed was used for this RKS. Maybe some copy or alternate mix. The OG has the drums, bongos and voice dead center and the other instruments around supporting. Healthy debate. All these reissues…frequently don’t beat the OG.
@@revelry1969 what are your system specs? On my flat response system, the RKS sounds perfect with good drums
@@SmallPersonRoo you don’t need my system specs. I have great components. I am flat too. No funny business. Have you listened to em back to back? The RKS is good. But it does not best the OG and I actually think maybe they didn’t get the right tape. RKS has a totally busy middle soundstage. The purple doesn’t. If you like the new one and it’s the best then go listen to that one. But if people want to look a little deeper then get the purple translucent. I love the RKS clarity and dynamics. But it is no more dynamic than the OG. They both have DR 13 ish (per side). The RKS cut is also much louder…like 3 or 4db. I can turn the OG way up without blowing my brains out with all the instruments jumbled in the middle. If you say it’s digital on the purple i don’t know what to say. It’s not the same mastering as the CD for sure but it very close mix wise. This is not a digital or analog problem. This is an artistic decision RKS made. They should have called Brendan O’Brien to over see this. Not Chad. Chad probably barely knows this record. I love Chad but I don’t think this one is as good as it could be
@@revelry1969 so you won’t reveal your system because you’re insecure about it? I don’t see why you wouldn’t want to reveal your system
Hmmm... I wonder how you get away with playing something like this in full and yet you get closed down for a lot more minor stuff...?
This sounds really damn good….
T H A N K Y O U !!! Unbelievable!
My favorite is the North American first pressing. It sounds great and has Twilight Zone. The Japan also has TZ but I keep trying to get it with the poster lol
I know people from Crack the sky in Rhode Island and San Francisco.. small world
Even though I'm hearing this thru a fu*kn cellphone the analog DYNAMICS that's ESSENTIAL to all music stand out
I wish I could say negative things about ERC because the price of 450 US$ for a new vinyl record is just insane ! BUT after hearing the vinyl record that you have uploaded here on YT ( did YT took it down in the meantime? I can't find it anymore^^) I can't criticize them anymore. The record sounded like a flat transfer of the mastering tape !! One of the most "natural" sounding records I have ever heard ! BUT AGAIN, I think that every standard release of any bands album should sound like this. For 20 bucks on vinyl record or digital release. And not for 450 US$ !!!
i think (hope) the youtube audio codec compression cuts off all the high frequencies, they don't come across at all
Pretty hot!
Love that ya got this one
Cannot wait for the rip..
$500ish record and still risking seam splits by leaving in the jacket?
Please stop supporting this ridiculous company lol
Seriously. Just because these are practically hand made doesn't make them any better than product that VPI , Analogue Productions or Rhino is putting out for 1/10 the price. It's a gimmick! Bragging rights is all it's about. Mike at the In Groove has been right about them all along. Suckers!
Damaged? Tell them the record is screwed and you want a new one. You expect to get what you paid for tell them. They might tell you to keep that one and send you another. It's happened to me so theirs a chance for you to acquire two copies legitably Patrick. Don't let them get away with sending out bad copies. There's too much of that "Oh the hell with it" attitude going on in the world right now. We all need to speak up when we've been short shifted.... Be a Man... LOL
Fun House was the last Stooges album I picked up. I got the debut and Raw Power in the bargain bins.
My all time favorite record 🔥
the guy on noble records featured Wool in one of his videos
Hey hey, missed it this time. About Affinity, the model is not the same as the Sabbath, same photographer though (Keef who did a bunch of Vertigos). The Affinity model however was used by Keef on Colosseum's Valentyne Suite, Nirvana's Local Anaesthetic and the Vertigo Annual sampler. Never seen her named though but it's probably not Linda. The Sabbath model Louisa Livingstone was used again by Keef on Fair Weather's Beginning From An End. (brief trivia for beano lol) Good to see you back Patrick!
This album is cool😊😊😊😊
great listen. thanks for posting.
