Music and instruments always do convey the story even at a surface level very nicely I'd say especially the cello/violin for ED 1 and the way he sang the last part was so melancholic, I loved it! About them playing dressup I think they are acting in a play of sorts because the OP1 gave me a very grounded feel XD I can be very wrong tho😂

Will try to find that version, Yoasobi's music is always really good tho I haven't listened to many of them, I remember listening to racing into the night and am still in love with it (I hadn't listened to it in a year thanks for reminding me about it through this comment will be having a listen again! XD ) The director's visions seems very strong and the drawings were strong and unique, love when we get great character designs

@Moonreax you said so yourself "I'm trying to not pay attention to the video". I'm not sure if it's a placebo effect or not but i feel like you pay less attention to both the visual and audio after repeating that statement a few times.

I do pay attention even after saying that XD I just try not to say what I'm thinking out loud because then I will have set certain expectations from the show that I might get disappointed about but I have already gotten a gist about the show regarding it being about the horrors of being in the idol industry and living a dual life, will be checking out how it executes it in the near future

@@Moonreax Ranma has less of a plot than Gintama - Ranma has NO plot, lol. There's like one villain and he's only there for 3 episodes in the original series. Seven years later, Pokemon did an episode similar to those three and similar to another Ranma episode, and, unlike Ranma, Pokemon actually handled the plot very seriously and very consequentially. I give Ranma credit for trying, but those four episodes aged very poorly and I hope the remake handles them a little better. What Ranma has instead of a plot is a central theme, which is challenging gender roles. The patriarchal culture forced Ranma to be 'manly' and suppress his feminine side. When he gets the power to turn into a girl, he explores his feminine side and becomes a whole person. His yin and yang come together.

hmm I see, hope the slice of life stuff is really well done and entertaining in this case XD

@@Moonreax It doesn't neatly fit any anime genres like slice of life or shonen. The closest thing I can compare it to is Looney Tunes, and with Ranma being Bugs Bunny. (And I mean that in the best way possible. There's a reason Ranma is a timeless classic.) But now and then it has moments that are a little more serious and Ranma is a bit of a tragic hero because he's expected to meet society's expectations of men and society's expectations of women. He mostly rejects both sets of expectations.

Appreciate it, I had heard about this show alongside Inuyasha and found out recently that it was getting a remake so jumped on it to check out how good it was XD

Will be doing that hopefully XD I do find Ranma interesting as well and I wonder if Mappa will handle the adaptation well in a way that'll not put off the old fans
