The Sexual Violence Prevention and Support Centre at the University of Toronto works to create a campus environment where all members of the University community can study, work and live free from sexual violence.
Established as part of the university's Action Plan on Preventing and Responding to Sexual Violence, the Centre has locations on each campus to help students, staff and faculty who have been affected by sexual violence or sexual harassment access support, services and accommodations.

National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women: Dec. 6, 2021
On December 6, 2021, U of T joined communities across Canada in remembering the 14 women killed in a devastating act of misogyny at the engineering school at Montreal’s École Polytechnique in 1989.
All students, staff, faculty, librarians, and alumni were welcome to attend this virtual, tri-campus event to mark the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. We were joined by four incredible panelists:
- Tee Duke (Assistant Director, Indigenous Initiatives, UTM Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Office)
- Paulette Senior (President and CEO, Canadian Women's Foundation)
- Selena Zhang (Undergraduate Student Leader, UTSC)
- Reenita Verma (Coordinator, Anti-Violence Initiatives, The 519)
Our program included:
- Opening Remarks
- Award Presentation: Award for Scholarly Achievement in the Area of
- Gender-Based Violence, presented by
- Memorial and Reflection, led by the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering
- Skule™ Orchestra Performance
- Panel Discussion with Q&A
- Closing Remarks
