I apply an average of 5 layers of varnish per day, with at least 30 minutes between each layer. I let these 5 layers dry and cure overnight, then sand the work the next day and apply another 5 layers. I repeat this process until I achieve a satisfactory result. :)

I let the crackle dry until the medium is no longer tacky, meaning it is completely dry. It's best to check this on a less visible part of the project, because if the medium isn't fully dry and you touch it, the applied paint won't crack evenly in that spot :)

I incorporated the clay in stages. After decorating the inside with clay, I waited for it to dry, then applied it to the outside. In areas where the extrusion was too narrow, I filled in with additional pieces of clay. In places where the back and front were joined, I smoothed the clay with a wet wipes :)
