I work in many different techniques such as swipes, blooms, cloud pours, pearl pours, open cups, ring pours, Dutch pours and more. Using new pouring medium recipe for blooming!
Welcome to my channel. Today I’m trying out a new pouring medium recipe for the bloom technique. I got it from Pieces of Tara Artistry. It uses no varnish.
Pouring Medium:
Recipe: 2 parts Valspar Ultra Deep Base C
1 part Behr 8300(or whatever paint
You are substituting that for now.
Cell Activator
Recipe: 2 parts American Floetrol
1 part paint
1 part water
20 drops Minwax Pre Stain (red can)
If you use pigments disperse with GAC 100
This worked well for me.

Today I’m pouring up a large 18 x 24 “kissing” cloud pour. It turned out so magical! I was trying something similar to another large cloud pour I had previously done. I have been pouring smaller matching canvases lately to form a larger painting. This is a great way to make bigger pieces! If you botch up a 20 by 20 that’s a lot of paint! Today I’m pouring 4 separate paintings on 10 x 10 canvases to create a larger bloom painting. I’m using the same palette for all of them. This was a large kissing cloud pour on a 20 x 20 canvas. One side is in cool colors, one in warm colors. It turned out so very nice and colorful! I’m pouring up a fiesta Sunflower today in bright vivid colors. Just using a combination of leftover colors in yellow, orange, red and blue with a black center. These are so much fun to make.
