My favorite movie. Aclassic. I never get tired of watching it.
This is one of the movies where I actually learned my Jimmy Durante impression
One of the best scenes ever!
As soon as Durante kicks the bucket...a literal bucket! You know you're in for a great time. After the countless times I've seen it, I never get tired of this movie.
A big W it’s under a big W, a big W I tell you
May she rest in peace.
@@meskeremgebregiorgis4589 Thank you
India's film industry Bollywood has made a Hindi movie that is a rip off of this movie called Dhamaal.
The definition of a great man!
What a beautiful couple!!
One of the funniest movies of all time. It just never lets up for two and a half hours. Fantastic cast of lunatic characters, and brilliant slapstick humour. The fight scene where the gas station gets demolished is hilarious. Deserves six stars not just five.😂
Ha-cha-cha-cha!!! XD
Milton Berle's best characterization ever, Ethel Merman deserved an award, whoever thought of teaming Micky & Buddy together, well they deserved their paycheck.
Perhaps the greatest comedy of all time, with the greatest cast of comedians ever assembled.
Happy Birthday Kathy🎉
0:06 when I'm touring the McDonalds factory and I see a huge vat of pink matter
Greatest comedy ever!
It don't make any difference.
0:16 The way needles acting made my stomach hurt of laughing 🤣
“Drums of the Pacific” showed literally zero drums. 0/10
What’s the matter, chicken?
Anyone who see this movie and KNOWS who the actors are, you have to appreciate the level of restraint they maintained to give their characters room to grow. More than half the cast were straight up comedy icons during the time this movie was shot. They never did get much of an opportunity to display straight drama roles, and using comedians to play in semi-dramatic roles for laughs was right up their alley.
Thank you for your insight. 👍
Brilliant movie
"Aunt Belle i didn't mean to do it!!" Lol!😅
"Did you see it!?" "The way he just went sailing out there!?" "He just went sailing out there."
Thank you, John! So great!
You are very welcome, Pat!
I liked when Durante talks about the bulls being everywhere. Buddy Hacket is looking around like he expects to see them
car in ciff sail away As That Clap
Needles are you on drugs?! Dont answer that we already know answer 🤣 his name is needles after all.
You all got that now? Rosita Beach State Park under the "Big Dubba-ya"!
Did you know Don Grove's grandfather, Barney Goldberg, negotiated the donation of the land Church of the Resurrection is built upon? There is a plaque and a tree in the circle in front of the new entrance that reads "Dedicated to Barney and Elaine Goldberg whose vision helped to create the Church of the Resurrection. " The Goldbergs were Jeanette Parmigiani's parents.
Wow, Sue Ellen, no. I never knew that! Thanks for sharing! (But I did know they were Jeannette's parents.) Please share with Don and say hi for me.
Excellent work, John!
How much does it cost to paint a house with aluminum siding
I honestly couldn't give a good answer. This was 7 years ago, plus the factors are many, not the least of which is square footage. Best if you call local companies for their quotes. I do wish you well in this. Mine is still like new. No chips, colorfast, etc.
Thanks John. I read your review on B&H several years ago but am just now having time to purchase and scan my 1950’s-1970’s collection. I remembered your review and searched throughout B&H to find and read it for your tips before I start my scans and editing. Thanks Again!
Thank you. I'm glad if this helps you in any way. Be sure to check out another one on this topic: "Wolverine Pro Tips: Film Cleaning, Preventing Hang-ups, and PowerDirector Nonlinear Editing". I wish you well on your project.
These actors are great but do you know who is greater? Jesus. He is selfless and loving. He died for everyone's sins, past, present, and future. Be careful when watching these films. We mustn't make these people our idols. Exodus 20:3-5 says "You must not have any other god but me. You must not make for yourself an idol of any kind or an image of anything in the heavens on earth or in the sea. You must not bow down to them or worship them, for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God who will not tolerate your affection for any other gods." Not only that, but the end times are here. 2 Timothy 4:1-5 states "You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. People will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that!" This is merely to inform people, not to attack them. God bless.
Beautiful
When I was 11 years old I saw this movie @ Safire theatre chennai along with my friends !
We were lucky enough to have seen the best....
“But if he jumps up like before I’m getting the Hell out of here”.
I was living in Brazil when I saw this movie in a crowded cinema. In English there are various euphemisms that refer to someone dying, such as "kicking the bucket." Portuguese has also an extensive list but "kicking the bucket" is not one of them. When Jimmy Durante stretched his leg and really kicked the bucket, I let out the loudest laugh. The cinema was deadly quiet. No one else understood the joke.
Every conceivable Comedian was in this movie. Epic
The movie's director, Stanley Kramer, known for his very heavy, message-laden dramas said "This was the hardest movie I ever worked on". Dying is easy. Comedy is hard.
Nous voulons tous le filme tradui en francai
I wonder if the bucket is still down the hill?
In 1974 Buddy Hackett was an out of control skier at Sun Valley. He wiped out my buddy who had stopped to adjust his bindings. Buddy Hackett was rude, arrogant, and accusatory after he broke the downhill skier right-of-way rule. Actors can be total pricks.
Great to hear from you, Julia. Mom never joined the choir. The only other relative in this choir was Uncle Bolling Bell, Dad’s brother-in-law. As for me, I always say, “I don’t sing out of respect to those around me.”😊 Yes dubbed onto the silent 8mm film. That was The London Philharmonic Orchestra.
Wow! I this dubbed/lip-synched?? Gorgeous! One of my fave songs. Nice shots of the Renzi's. I remember your dad singing from HMS Pinafore. Who else was in the St. Camillus Choir, your mom after Rocco died? Julia
I’ve never seen so many stars since I banged my head on the mangle.
