P.G.R.
The title track from my first album, featuring sounds from the roundabout near where I grew up. As a child that roundabout was the centre of my world. Each of the four roads that connect to it opened up new possibilities. If you wanted to go anywhere you had to take the roundabout first: to the supermarket, to school, to see grandparents, to friends' houses, to the airport. Now I've grown up and moved away but the roundabout is still there, with cars going around it day and night, deciding which road to take, and where to go next.

September

Every year when summer ends and the weather cools I think about a piece of music I wrote called September. It was the last track on my very first album, 'P.G.R.', a collection of looped lo-fi guitar and improvisations over sound recordings of gardens, roundabouts and rainstorms. September was named after the month it was written and recorded. Back then the end of summer meant the start of a new...

Erno - Songs for Here and Now (2014)

Another album from the very productive summer of 2014. This one's a collection of tape hiss ambience, cheap organ synths, mumbled vocals, squeaking slide guitar, gory stories and pots and pans. Some tracks work, some tracks don't quite work, but I think it's an interesting artefact from a time when my music making process was a lot looser and more experimental. 00:00 - Lansdowne, Part 1 04:00 -...

this is so nostalgic!! I love it. it is very wistful and contemplative. was that me playing the clarinet or you?
Just excellent!!
Maybe Dylan doesn’t know which end of him is up. Read about this at the time so think something did happen or journos just had nothing much to say that day so made it up. Reminds me of a fuckin hilarious story we’d get my mum to tell us on a regular basis, even tho we knew the story by then, of the time her and my dad ended up at the wake, laden with provisions, of a man who was still alive and who answered the door to them. Now that took some explaining. She could take hours telling the story and we hung onto every word with tears rolling down our faces cos she was so fuckin funny. I once had a weird couple of months with a guy who had made tea for for Kylie when she was waiting for her then bf to return to his flat in a block of flats where she’d been waiting on the stairs. I was well impressed. So kylies’s world renowned arse sat on THIS sofa? Wow. Apparently she was very friendly and polite and sweet which is no surprise and had a cup of tea and then her bf came back and she left, taking her arse with her,
At any rate, Dave Stewart was worth the trouble. Annie Lennox would be worth sitting in the wrong city for days.
Cool video
...good Bob story; thanks, mate.
