Bonsoir madame. Sympa vos explications.
Hi, love this idea. What did you use instead of the aerogarden grow felt?
We used hemp mats, a commun medium people use to grow microgreens 😊
Does this recipe work for all plants? And what about pH?
@@Jesperthansen81 Hi! So far it has worked with all the plants we have tried. Edible flower plants, tomatoes, peppers, leafy greens!
@@belowzerogreens what about pH??
@@Jesperthansen81we don’t measure it 😌
@@belowzerogreens okay. Easy… thought you have to…?
@@Jesperthansen81you don’t « have » to, but if your water is too hard or if you’re having issues then it might be something to look into. But so far we have not had any problems
Can I use this mixture for soil application?
Hey there! I use the same mixture and just water my plants like I usually would with regular water! ☺️
Well-explained. Thank you. Happy gardening. Take care
Thank you! Glad to help!
Also other ingredients
Please tell me the amount of master blend per liter for small and for fruiting tomatoes plants
Hi! We have a video explaining all that! th-cam.com/video/FG6i3U0Aqzo/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=BelowZeroGreens

How often should the liquid solution be replaced?
Hi there! We don’t really use a set amount of time, I usually make enough to use it all up after about 2-3 weeks! Otherwise, I just use the mix and refill the plant containers as needed. Hope this helps! ☺️
Okay, Thank You! 🙂
Minis are so cute lol
I could use your advice. I have just received my 1st shipment of masterblend from Amazon & even though I thought I purchased from the manufacturer, I didn't. Apparently, there is only the one company selling masterblend on Amazon now. Some reviews claim that due the products being repackaged in clear bags the weight has been off one said 1 lb short on 5 lbs & products give very inconsistent results. I wanted to check your Amazon links to see if it's that seller, but couldn't find them below video? Have you used the M.B. & C.N. in clear plastic bags from Amazon? If yes, have you ever dealt w/ these issues? I have been so excited about trying this & now I'm worried I made a mistake not buying directly from the manufacturer or someone I follow on YT, ya know?
Hi there! Sorry to hear about that, it can in fact be difficult to order on Amazon sometimes especially when there are many scammers out there. It seems the particular seller we have linked isn't currently selling on Amazon. We do however order directly from their website because they are a Canadian company, they are called Gecko Grow ( geckogrow.ca/ ) and we have ordered multiple times without issues from them. The bags are true to weight.
2 BOTTLE METHOD 500 ml bottle Bottle (A) 120g (6.5 TB) NPK 60 g (4 TB) Epsom Salt (Add NPK to warm water & shake then add epsom salt). Bottle (B) 120 g (6.5 TB) calcium/nitrate add warm water and shake 1 liter (use half if seedlings) 2.5 ml (1/2 tsp) of A 2.5 ml (1/2 tsp) of B 1 gallon (use half if seedlings) 9.5 ml (2 tsp) of A 9.5 ml (2 tsp) of B 1 gallon = 4 liters BUCKET METHOD Notes: 1/2 tsp Masterblend ( NPK). 1/4 tsp Epsom salt. 1/2 tsp calcium nitrate per 1 gallon of water. Fill bucket with 1 gallon water Add 4 x 1/2 tsp masterblend (NPK) and stir. Add 2nd gallon of water add 4 x 1/4 tsp epsom salt. Add 3rd gallon water and stir. Add 1 gallon of water and add 4 x 1/2 tsp calcium nitrate. Add each one at a time to avoid clumping and to make water nutrient rich. Using warm water and/or whisk can help dissolve nutrients. This is for fully grown plants for 1 gallon water Use half if seedlings 5 gallon bucket 12-12-6 ratio Ex. 12 grams masterblend-12 grams calcium nitrate-6 grams epsom salt 10-10-5 ratio for microgreens
"120g (6.5 TB)" math seems a bit odd isnt 15g =1 TB and also NPK to Epsom ratio is 1 : 0.5 ? im going off your recipe sine its ideally what im looking for and original video adds all nutrients in the same water
Greetings from Ghana. Thanks for the education. I'm however seeking a philanthropist who can spare 500g each of hydroponic fertilizer to enable me start trying out this exciting method of growing lettuce. Thanks

Hmmm what's the fastest something has ever grown for it to be produce food. Besides microgreens and there 1 week lifespans lol
Lettuce and herbes are amongst the quickest plants to grow after microgreens! 😊
Any good tho?
They do indeed work as intended :) we have managed to grow microgreens!
Thank you for the video! I wanted to ask if you feed your plants with this fert mix weekly?
We do it as needed! ☺️ When thé water drops, we simply refill it!
Hey , thanks a lot ! two questions ; 1. the concentrated mix you showed should be good for 4L water of water ? in other words can i add from the concentrated mix 240ml > to 3760ml of water ? or make new concentrated mix * 4 ? and then add 240ml of this > to 3760ml of water ? 2. my masterblend 4-18-38 (which i bought as a set of 3 like yours) is not called "tomato formula 4-18-38" like yours , but just "Fertilizer NPK with micronutrients, 4-18-38" - it is the same for me ?
Hi there! For the mix, if you want to make 4L directly you can mix in the powdered nutrients directly in 4L of water ☺️ For your second question, I would assume that it is the same thing. Did it come with a bag of Magnesium and Calcium?
add to 4L by your formula ? 1bsp , 1tbsp, 0.5 tbsp directly? I don't need to make concentrated mix first ? Or use what the brand offered directly Yes it comes with set of 3 bags
@@proudjew4611 correct! ☺️ you don’t have to make a concentrated mix. We do simply because we don’t need a lot prepared at a time, but it’s difficult to measure the amount of nutrients for very small amounts (example making only 1L of mix at a time). Most scales aren’t sensitive enough to mesure decimals, that is why we make a concentrate so it’s easier to store a smaller amount that’s easier to use ☺️ Hope this helps!
I just use a magnetic stirrer, especially for the calcium nitrate.
That’s a good idea! ☺️

How would you mix these for 1 gallon of water? Will be just using water pail for watering my tomato plants that are in the garden.
Hi there! So our concentrated version is technically the amount you would need for 2 gallons. So can use 1 tsp of tomato mix, 1/2 tsp of magnesium and 1 tsp of calcium directly into 2 gallons of fresh water and use as is 😊
@@belowzerogreens Thank-You

Could you please convert this recipe into ounces for those of us in the USA that don't know how to convert it?
This might be tricky to mesure. 1 teaspoon of tomato mix is about 5 grams, which is equal to about 0.18 ounces. I suppose it might depend on your scale. I think it might be easier to stick to teaspoons, as per the video :)
It was converted years ago on mhpgardener's channel: Per gallon of water, add 1 rounded 1/4 teaspoon of Masterblend and the same amount of Calcium Nitrate. Add 1 rounded 1/8 teaspoon of Epson Salt. I've used this concentration for years. Cut the amount of Calcium Nitrate in half when the fruit starts to form.
very interesting, but I have a question. if the concentrate is 500ml then at 60ml for every 1000ml solution, you can make this many 1000ml solutions: 500(concentrate)/60ml(per 1000ml)=8 solutions of 1000 ml or 8 liters. since you're using the chemicals necessary for 4 liters, it seems your solution would be 1/2 strength? So, in other words, you should use 120ml out of the concentrate to make 1000ml or 1 liter.
Hi there! This is a good question. Lots of numbers, here’s we go. So according to Masterblend instructions, for 4 litres (about 1 gallon), we need 2.5g-1.3g-2.5g mix (tomato mix-Mg-Calcium). 1 tsp of tomato mix gives around 5g 1/2 tps of Magnusium is 2.5g 1 tsp of Calcium is 5g. So, we are putting twice the amount in 1/8 of the amount they recommend. In other words, if we calculate how much nutrients we are using (5-2.5-5) this is the amount for 8000ml. But we have 500ml. So, 500ml/8=62.5ml. So inside 62.5 (60 to make it easier), you will have enough nutrients for 1000ml. Hope this helps!
@@belowzerogreens I must say, you are quite the mathematician. thank you
@@bbulliard Happy to help! That’s why we made this video, we did the math for you! 😊
Unboxings are always fun. Christmas all over again!!
I just love the sound of tape being cut open!
I have a question, can I use this fertilizer mix for hydroponics of indoor flowers?
We are currently trying with flowering plants, so far so good! I know that Masterblend does have a « bloom » stage formula as well to encourage flower growth in fruit plants. If it work for them, I don’t see why it wouldn’t work for flowers! The end result is the same, more flowers!

Haha Thank you so much!! ☺️🥳
Very helpful video! I will use your method for my 8 microgreen trays for my family, starting with half strength for seedlings. Thank you!!
Awesome! Masterblend is great. We use it for microgreens as well and it makes them grow so lush! Oddly enough for microgreens, full strength is fine right of the bat. I think since they are many, the stronger solution doesn’t bother them
@@belowzerogreens Oohh! Thank you, that’s great to know!! I’ll go full strength then. Best wishes.

It's like getting a haircut!💇♀
Did you have to use chemicals?
Hi! You don’t have to use nutrients, but it does help a lot!
Never tried kratky, but am doing dwc with Cannabis 🪴 and Hot 🌶 and 🍅 Shits a game changer from a soil plant fo-sho!!!

Wow amazing,

Merci du partage. Pouvez-vous me faire quels Nutriments ajouter ? Du purin d'orties suffit-il ? Merci d'avance.
