Psychological side of EDS, mental health awareness
I cannot stress enough how important it is for us to take care of our mental health just as much as our physical health! Take care of your loved ones, tell them you love them, and support them through the roughest of journeys because it’s generally harder than they would like to admit! Hello! My son is having PAO in a few months. He is having the surgery out of state. We rented an RV to drive him home in. I’m wondering if you think it would be better to stay near the hospital for a week or so to let him heal some before embarking on the 12 hour drive home? Thanks for any opinion you are willing to give!
Now that youve had 5 yrs of recovery how do you feel??? What has been the hardest part of your recovery??? How long did it take for your major pain take to ease up???
Im going next Tues for my consultation for my PAO on my left hip. I am in a lot of pain. I am not sleeping well at all. Where did you get your snap on shorts???

Hi Zoey, thank you so much for sharing your recovery. I'm wondering how your hip is doing now?
I'm going to need thus surgery in a couple months in Boulder Colorado.... we're you able to get out of bed within 24 hours, I don't want to use a bed pan! 😂

Thank you for documenting your PAO journey. My daughter will be having this surgery soon, also with dr. Zaltz. Hearing your story and recommendations is so helpful. Praying that your recovery has gone well and you are pain free and able to do whatever you like!

It’s been two days since pao surgery for me and can’t move my own leg at all:/
I'm 17 and having a PAO at the start of February, and I'm doing my best to learn more about it and prepare for everything. This video was super helpful. I can't express how much this video means to me. thank you for sharing <3

What kind of wheelchair did you use? Did Dr. Zaltz prescribe it or did you have to buy it on your own?
I had to rent it, but he did give me a specific prescription for it. I don’t remember exactly what type it was
@@zebrazoey9230 I was able to get one in a "buy nothing" group for my town. I need to practice though
Thank you so much for sharing your journey! I'm a fellow Michigander with EDS, facing this surgery. I have my 3D CT scan tomorrow, after a month of waiting. I'm so scared about this journey. It really helped to be able to hear from you about what recovery might be like.

@@zebrazoey9230 I don't know a good way to message directly, if we can do that? I've known since February that I needed another hip surgery, my last was just a scope. I got the call TODAY to schedule my operation. So wild you saw this on the same day. Stars are alligning or something!

After my own hospital stay, I have to say... whatever you take, just keep it small. Tiny stuff. I had someone drop off travel size stuff.
Totally agree with this. Travel size everything is perfect
