Det råeste dekkene vi noensinne har hatt på noe kjøretøy, men piggene trakk mye motorkraft. Vi oppnådde en topphastighet på 177 km/t. Underlag, føre og med 750ccm tatt i betraktning er vi fornøyde. JMC Racing: Harald Skjørshammer og Rolf Nedrebø
Leirskoletur til Sirdal 1978

Klasse 8C på leirskole i 1978. Filmen viser en dag i bakken like utenfor "Gjestalbu fjellstue" Mye knall og fall med høydepunkt da skihopper Arnljot Aune satte bakkerekord for dagen. Harald Thue gikk tom for bakke og ble hengende på brøytekanten til fylkesveg 983. Sånn ellers hadde Odd Egil nettopp kjøpt den nyeste platen til Status Quo og den ble spilt minst 100 ganger i løpet av uken, så dera...

Beautiful car. My dad one in the late 70s ( estate version - due to family) and I remember it being fast and futuristic looking, especially after our old Morris Minor. Always loved those squared off displays.

Not sure how this is a record? The 600cc F2 machines clock around 160mph on the IOM TT and in the early 2000’s the 1000cc F1s hit near 180mph at Monza. And this is a record? A little over 140mph? Someone please fill me in.
The speed record is a specific process. They don’t watch the tv and just update it. Want a record then you’ve to go though the process that this Gentleman did. Fair play to him. that’s only a 750. No idea about tune etc. I had a 205bhp k8 that was clicked at over 170 at Spa. Mate has a 220bhp Kawack with about 15k of head and fancy pistons. He did over 180 at a road race in Belgium. 182 I think. That’s the fastest over ever seen one go. They use 600’s now so that’s about as fast as they will go unless someone sets out to specifically break the record. Above 200 the tyres won’t take it.
In order to brake a speed record you have to maintain top speed over distance of 1 mile. The speed is measured with timing clocks and then calculated. If you brake the record you`re qualified to do a return run (must be done within 2 hours) Return run is obligated in order to compensate for the wind direction. The times for both directions is then calculated and gives you an average speed. The tricky part is to make an unstable vehicle with 3 wide wheels go fast and strait on salt, witch in no way can be compered with racing on asphalt /tarmac. Salt have high rolling resistance and is very slippery. With forward traction only on one wheel and considerable more wind resistance on the left side you will find that you are balancing on the edge of spinning out. (Traction-control is not legal.) I don`t know how fast this bike wold perform om tarmac, but for sure it would be a lot faster. Speed record attempt (FIM) with a passenger is for now only allowed at Bonneville. Hi Hisam.Good question .... And I have to say I don't know. I sold the car for 47,000 nok (about 4700 €) and it was sold within hours after I put it up for sale...

Good 610SSS now fetch $35,000 plus. They're rare, and good ones are worth a lot of money. I reckon whomever purchased this one did VERY well.
Did not know they raced with wide flat tread tire . Sucked about the off track adventure.
