Van Life in Southern Baja
I haven't posted a video in over a month. I've been bust living the Baja life style. This footage is from early March back when we first arrived in Southern Baja California. We had just started spending more time exploring and meeting new people. Chewee has gained his sea legs and is now a kayaking and paddleboarding dog. He's even just going for swims now! More videos to come soon :)

DIY Flat Mount Starlink Dish - Simple & Easy
มุมมอง 41310 หลายเดือนก่อน
Here is how I turned my $260 refurbished starlink dish into a sleek permanently installed flat dish without paying all the extra doh! Before I took off on this trip I knew I was going to be alone in remote places with no internet so getting starlink was pretty high on the list. After I got the dish I quickly realised it wasn't something I could just leave up. After watching a ton of youtube vid...

The time has come for me to sell my 1988 Catalina 30 I bought Venture, registered name “Reflections”, in 2016. Venture and I have had 5 wonderful summers together exploring Howe Sound, the sunshine coast, up to Desolation Sound, and the Gulf Islands! She’s trained over a hundred new sailors, and has...

    Hello, I noticed that your first filter (off engine) was a 2 micron. According to Nigel Calder, author of Marine Diesel Engines, your primary filter should be 30 microns, secondary (if you have one) 10 microns, and on engine filter 2 microns. That way your first filter captures the larger particles and your last filter the small ones. The challenge with your set up is that your primary filter will get clogged too quickly (and starve your engine of fuel) because it is only 2 microns.

    You mentioned a vent. I'm confused... isn't the nipple connected to a water hose to lubricate the shaft? Where does the water come from? A water hose? HELP. We bought a bought (owner died) and the hose is not connected.

    • @LandandSeawithKee
      @LandandSeawithKee ปีที่แล้ว

      On most sailboats this is just a vent led above the water line to burb air out. On powerboats this needs to be connected to a water source for cooling.

    Thank you! About to remove a furling headsail whose halyard parted near the top. It’s my first boat with furling, so I appreciate your tutorial. Fortunately the previous owner somehow retrieved the broken line and secured it at deck level, so I’ve been able to replace the halyard already.

    Nice and clean. What did you get for her? I do not remember hearing anything about keel, tall rig... sail stuff? Too late now suppose but have you blown out the refridge with compressed air? Where the fan is blowing? You, they need to do that at least once a season. If it is running all the time the motor will die. If oven is too hot, get a good thermometer. Get it up to 350, then loosen screw that holds the temp control knob on. Rotate the knob to 350, set screw. Are you getting another boat? Capt. Jaun
