Actually there is no need to beware of the taxis, if you hail them in the streets, 99% of them are legal and correct. You do need to be cautious at the Bus station though, and, until recently at the Airport, but they did away with them only last week with the ongoing major reconstruction nearing its completion. There is public transport from the Airport, very affordable. There are applications for taxi service you can use, like CarGo, for which you do not need to know the language. Exchange offices are found everywhere and are correct, and they charge insignificant commission. Avoid exchanging money in banks, and the offices in shopping malls only because they charge slightly more, but it is still nothing worth worrying. Public transport is easy to use and is recommendable out of rush hours when it is packed full.
