I love this!! It's great that you are so open and flexible and are able to give yourself grace! We all need to do that

I love how you give yourself the room to adapt your goals and focus less on hitting a target and more on doing what's achievable- I'm still very slowly trying to learn that myself! I still think you've done amazingly and even though you haven't done as many videos, the ones you have done have felt so warm and cosy and definitely show who you are as a person as well as a reader!

I rarely use Twitter/X anymore, I only go on there when I upload a new video to share the link! I miss how active the book community used to be on there (although I completely understand why people have moved away from it). I've seen a few bookish friends have moved to Threads so I think I'm going to try posting over there more in the New Year!

I think throughout the year you definitely get to see how important the goals you set really were to you 😅 i haven't checked my goals at any point throughout this year so I'm sure that i probably also failed miserably at them

It can't be as bad as my 2024 tally. I think I've completely finished only three books. My average is 75-250 books.

The clear plastic cover helps a lot and gives you a pen loop. If you just throw it in your bag- I suggest the little page keeper accessory- it will keep it closed. It is probably the most handy accessory from Hobonichi- in my opinion.

Unhauling books can be hard, but it always feels amazing to have more space! I'm probably going to lower my goodreads goal as well, I was reading differently for the past year too but it made me enjoy reading more because I took off the pressure. It suppose to be a hobby for fun

Cool idea! I looked up recs for my sign (Scorpio), and most of them seemed to fit me well - horror, thrillers, something dark and mysterious, totally my taste. 🤣 Then I looked up Virgo, and I saw something that might explain what happened here - Virgos are known for having "high standards" and overthinking things. 😉 I don't know if I can post links here, but try looking for an article called "To the Virgos Who Read: A Book for Each Virgo Personality Trait." It looks like a good variety of book types, and honestly the "gentle soul" trait sounds like the romance and fantasy you were craving, so you probably were reading like a Virgo after all!

I really enjoyed the first two AGGGTM books but I hated book 3 😅 it's so divisive because people seem to love or hate the direction it goes in! I've looked up a few Sagittarius book reccs and they do seem to fit my taste which is interesting! I think a lot of zodiac reccs do seem to be based on whether the main character fits the personality of that star sign

I loved 'A Good Girls Guide to Murder'. The book is so much better than the TV show.

I really thought it was just the voice actors for the audiobook. I'm about halfway through chapter 7 and this is the chapter that has killed any hope I had for this book.

I would be unbelievably happy for some good mistborn movies but.. It's become obvious at this point that the ''cosmere'' is one large story with all the various series being essentially different arcs. Just going by the recent Stormlight RPG kickstarter, which turned out to become the Cosmere RPG instead, Brandon is incredibly invested in making sure everything is as faithful to the books as possible. I'm rambling but my point is that if they want to do it justice it will most likely have to be animated. Big budget movies for some of it can work but I imagine it will be almost hell making anything Sanderson will be happy with as canon going forwards (due to producer input and creative differences). Not to mention what happens when you cast actors for live action that will turn up in future stories that aren't even told yet. The work that has gone into the RPG has been nothing but insane. The detail they spent on lore, nailing down canon version of all the characters, all the world building.. They already have an entire team working on it. I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually put together their own team for an animated cosmere and just find a distributor. Kinda like ''Arcane'' on Netflix. It could be the next ''One Piece''. Being continuously worked on while the books are being written. I've thought about this too much I'm such a nerd lol..

Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine is one of the books that are aging like a fine wine. You don't really appreciate it in the moment, but it keeps coming to you after, again and again. And it is a very unique book. Personally, I really enjoyed it.
