I have the microfreak too! How are you routing sound into your synths, is it just midi violin>synth>comp?
Sounds are from analog guitar pedals and the computer is only for recording. Not using any midi sounds. Only using midi to sync clock. No computer required for sounds! But yeah, record into Ableton. But not using Ableton as more than a four track recorder. Microfreak through guitar pedals

cool vibe man. curious about this - did you manage to sync the boss rc300 with ableton to match tempo automatically, or are you setting their tempos manually? is the boss plugged into ableton or the other way around, or not at all?
So now I use the rc500 but it's basically the same. If using Ableton, it can be set to master or slave. I prefer slaving Ableton so I set the tempo and parameters on the saved memory patch on the looper. Then when I push record on looper all will follow. Can go the other way around, where Ableton is master. I'm more of an instrumentalist so I just there used Ableton for the beat basically. Now, I don't use computer at all in later videos. I just use Arturia microfreak, Arturia drumbrute impact, rc500 and helix stomp for violin and guitar. Hope that helps
@laugal aha. So with the 500 (not 505, correct) can you slave via USB or did you use midi cable?
@JohnBartmannMusic yup I mean the 500, the 2 channel foot switch pedal looper (I don't like the 505, why would I wanna use my hands!), you can actually use midi or USB (in the 500 or Ableton select whichever one you're using, just don't use auto, gotta pick one), I use a midi chain all the way from drummachine (separate output, not to looper)-synth-helix-looper-spaceecho to sync clock and loops. Also, can add Ableton before drum machine as master or at the end as slave
@@laugal nice. so after some experimenting i got ableton to slave to the RC300. Boss > [MIDI] > audio interface > [USB] > Ableton. Now syncs on Boss start/stop but also allows Ableton controller devices to cue clip recording. Thanks for the help - enjoy yer loopin!
