      Last weekend, i was detecting Magnolia beach. I always lock up my wedding ring and wallet before getting out of the care, my wife turned down the offer to lock up her jewelry, saying she will be fine.... yup, she lost a huge inch wide silver bracelet swimming in the water... So I left at a negative for treasure..

    • @MetalDetectingwithZiggy

      I played around on and off over the years since I was in high school long ago. Kept an old detector on my boat (I lived on my boat for twenty years) and played on the beaches during my travels. I didn't take it seriously until about 2 yrs ago studying everything I could find on beach and wave patterns etc.. I get out at least once a week and often twice spending a full day every time. watch videos for pointers. one of my favs id Metal Detecting NYC. very educational and fun too. pick a budget. I started out with a Garrett 400. a budget entry level rig to make sure I like it. After a yr I stepped up to an Equinox 700 (mid level rig) and love it. In retrospect I wish I had gone straight to the 700 1st as I didn't start to find a lot of jewelry until I did. thanks for the shout, Zig

    • @MetalDetectingwithZiggy
      @MetalDetectingwithZiggy 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Start by watching TH-cam videos to learn what you can. I suggest NYC metal detecting. Go back into his channel, which is a great teacher. Then decide which unit you want. 2 thoughts there. Get a cheaper entry model to see if you like the hobby, then step up to a better model later. That's what I did, but if I did it all over again, I would've made the plunge and bought the Equinox right out of the gate rather than drop $400 on the Garrett then $700 on unit 2. Then, buy the unit on Amazon or find a dealer near you who can help you out too.
