It’s when that wears off ( 2-3 weeks ) is when the work really begins. You need to start going to meetings, ( see if that helps ) stay away from drinking friends as much as possible , and keep busy. Literally take one day at a time. But most of all , pray for strength to your Higher Power , because my friend, you won’t be able to do this alone yourself. Trust me. - 45 years of hard drinking.
