Make the home you want using the things you have. Repurpose, recycle, upcycle, and refurbish.
Beginning married life broke while living in one-fourth of a double-wide trailer paved the way for some creative living solutions. Using what I had on hand, with no money out of pocket, I transformed our tiny house into a sought-after show home. Almost 25 years, and a few houses later, I have never stopped making the home I want to live in using the things I have. Now, I want to inspire you to do the same. Don't allow your limitations to keep you from creating the life and home you want. Whether you are living off of love, or have an entire account dedicated to home improvement, you can achieve your dream home.
I'm glad to have you with me!

The Absolute BEST Way to Melt Chocolate!
This is the best way to melt milk, dark, and white chocolate for all your dipping, drizzling, and pouring needs. Using skills learned as a formulator, I have found this method for melting chocolate to be foolproof. You can use this step-by-step guide for perfect melted chocolate every time. Whether you are using melting wafers, chocolate blocks, or chocolate chips, this video will show you how to melt chocolate correctly.
Whether baking holiday goodies or preparing chocolate-covered treasures, melting all types of chocolate doesn't have to be complicated or messy! Using tricks of my trade, I'll show you the easiest and neatest way to prepare your solid chocolates for dipping, pouring, and drizzling!
If you follow these simple steps, milk chocolate, Dark chocolate, white chocolate, and everything in between will become creamy, lush, and easy to pour, drip, dip, and drizzle. I learned this method while formulating organic skincare using natural waxes and oils. It keeps everything heated evenly, preventing burnt, curdled, or chocolate "blossom," where chocolate gets that white powdery coating on it.
First, I fill my crockpot or slow cooker about two inches deep with clean tap water. I heat the water on low for five to ten minutes. Next, I grab a tall drinking glass for each type of chocolate I will be melting. A Pyrex measuring cup would be great, but I found the cups too large and not deep enough for dipping pretzel rods.
Place the glasses into the pre-heated water and allow them to come to the temperature of the water. Allowing the drinking glasses to heat is essential for even heat distribution. There's another trick to help with uniform melting. I'll let you in on my secret for that in a minute.
Add your chocolate chips, wafers, or shreds into the pre-heated glasses as they sit in the warm water bath. Don't ever put entire cubes of chocolate into the glasses. This will cause the bottom to melt rapidly while the top remains much cooler. It's much better to chop or shred chocolate into smaller pieces before adding them to the warm glasses.
This is my trick for melting your white, dark, or milk chocolate faster and more evenly. Once the chocolate begins softening at the bottom of the glass, place a stainless butter knife down the center of the glass. The surrounding chocolate supports the knife as the heat from the bottom conducts throughout the entire length of the knife. This results in rich, creamy, perfectly melted chocolate.

I have this problem the bottom drawer of my Eastlake dresser I’m restoring. I don’t know if it had these but I can check the others. Mine may have just had a block of wood that got lost at some point. If it was just a block then I’ll put a new one in. If it was this then I’ll get some of these.
@@Crazyguy_123MC It can be frustrating. Best wishes with your project! I love making old things new again. 🙂

If a dress has some sort of padding throughout the top of the dress, is this method still okay? I have a dress I need but don't have time to take it to a cleaner 😞

What if the boo boo is on the leg, past where the vest would cover?
You could use human socks and fasten them to the vest via cam snaps or press fasteners or buttons
@DjastinFaiht has a great suggestion here! If you don't want to do any sewing, you may use iron on or self-adhesive velcro to attach people socks.
I love these ideas! Thanks for watching and commenting. 😊
You could make a sleeve out of a sock. If it's too wide, you can just sew along it to make the cylinder tighter.
@LizzieStuff great idea! 🙂👍🏻

I do a hand wash but dont ever need to refill sink to do both inside and outside of garment. Cleans brilliant aswell.Woolite is pretty strong stuff and what u put in to clean that dress there was no need for the refill. Still....its up to u. I leave my item soak in the woolite/water solution for 10 mins both inside and out,so 20 mins in all. Comes out spotless, even sweat stains on polo shirt collars etc. Hand wash is just better than any washing machine wether its dry clean or not, imo, removes stains better.
Thanks for watching and commenting. I agree that hand washing garments is always more effective. Be blessed!
Tysm much appreciated

I wonder if you did more coats of the polyurethane near the doorways to make thicker seal would that have made it last longer ?
@nunyabiz2117 This is quite possible. I was leary of keeping everything smooth and even. Doormats would help as well. Unfortunately, our doggies think of them as pee pads. 😕 🙄 All my doormats have to be outdoors. Thanks for watching and commenting! 🙂👍🏻

Where did the drawers come from?
@haroldpotrero7050 Good question! This is an antique piece passed down a few generations. I can't find a manufacturer label or stamp. It is a neat piece of furniture. Thanks for the question. 🙂
How heavy white winter coat ... how to treat stains?
@TracyPerkins-dy7fm I'm sorry. I don't understand your question. Are you asking how to remove stains from a heavy white coat? If so, what type of fabric are you working with? What caused the stains? How long have the trains been there? All of this factors into how you can clean the coat.
Best method would be a foam spray cleaner, works brilliant on nylon. Other method half water, half vinegar solution(spray bottle)treat stain, use baking soda.
Love that! Not to dwell on things you don't have and focus on what you do.

If you have a probleme with a jacket smelling from underarm perspiration you can kill the smell with steam. The same with cloths that you can’t get smell free by washing. But first check at a part that is less visible to se that the steam doesn’t harm the fabric
@ingegerdandersson6963 thanks for the tip!
Vodka will work well also! Use a spray bottle, not shot glass LOL
I need to get my hardwood in shape-I need to get rid of my two kids, 4 cats and my yorkie as well 😂😂😂 I dnt know what to do 😥😥😥😥

What is in the bottle? Can you let us know what you use to clean the floors
Typically, I use Bona hardwood floor cleaner. I believe, at the time of filming, I used a 60(ish) oz spray bottle filled with water, a touch of liquid dish soap, and a splash of white distilled vinegar. Thanks for watching!

Hi
Hi sweet girl! 🥰 Thanks for watching my video. 💖👋
Thank you! I was planning on buying a bottle of spray that attaches to the hose head tomorrow, but I am thinking this method might be more effective. Have you ever tried those premixed liquids?
@@alexisg7644 I have tried some of the premixed liquids you attach to the end of a hose. I found they did not effectively remove the green residue on our house. I may be able to get it off with several bottles for each side of the house. By that time, I'd be spending a fortune on cleaner. I hope you find this method as effective as we do. It seems to melt the grime right off the house. It rinses clean and residue free. It doesn't harm any of our flowers, shrubs, plants, or grass. Thanks for watching and commenting! 🙂
@@sawdustandcornbread Thank you so much for the help. I will try your way. I thought one bottle would do an entire house lol that would cost way more than I can afford rn

I purchased a Southwestern looking couch because that they kind of look I have is Southwestern with a little Tuscany thrown in there. I can't stand a dirty house thank you if I had known that the couch that I bought was down I would have never purchased it because it hurts the birds when the feathers are pulled and I love animals and I don't trust anyone who does not love animals. So I think I'm going to have to order some wool or something like that to put inside of the couch cushions but thank you so much any thing you can tell me about making it plump up a little more or wash the cushions the raw silk so I have to be very careful any ideas ?
The best way I have found to plump the cushions is a light vacuuming followed by manually fluffing and plumping the cushions by hand. I hope this helps. ❤ Thanks for watching.

Awesome! Btw, you’re a hottie!
I'm most concerned with fading and warping. I have a pair of brand new completely black pants that are 98% cotton and 2% spandex. It has some extra detailing along the legs in a few spots, where the fabric is sort of folded over and tacked down. They aren't sewn down and I'm also worried that I might accidentally tear or loosen those tacks. Should I use this method?
I would be comfortable using this method with the pants you described. I would be extra careful not to overextend or put too much pressure on the areas that are tacked together. I suggest laying them flat to dry. It may be a good idea to neatly arrange the tacked areas as they should be before allowing to dry. Hope this helps. Ultimately it comes down to how comfortable you are with a piece of clothing. ❤ 🧺
I have had panic attacks in the past that lasted maybe 30 minutes, but in the last year, I had major panic attacks where it would last 5 to 6 hours and totally collapse. I had to give up driving because that's where the worst one's would happen. I have a phobia of vomiting, so I constantly felt like I was going to throw up and that would keep the panic going. I also have vertigo attacks caused by an inner ear crystal imbalance. I have had 3 attacks of this in the past year which would feed into my panic attacks and the nausea that would come with it. I now have panic attacks almost every day. I have to take medication to get out of house and sometimes the meds don't work. My life has stopped. I feel so alone.
Please trust that you are definitely not alone. I'm sorry this is such a difficult time for you. 🫂❤ I am praying and believing you will get through this trial and better days are in store. A phobia of vomiting is much more common than most people think. It can be debilitating at times. There are definitely counselors who can help with coping methods. Feel free to message me here anytime. This is something none of us needs to face alone. Thanks for reaching out. You're in my prayers tonight. Take care. ❤
Does it leave any kind of residue?????
I haven't noticed a residue. It dries clear and hard. I will say, just as with polyurethane, temporary water marks are visible. For instance if you leave a damp mop on the floor for a few minutes you will see where it was sitting. After an hour or so it goes away. I noticed this on all our wood floors with polyurethane finish. I think it is a common occurrence.
Thanks so much! I will give this a try!
