I’d say this is perfection in every which way! Very talented choreographer!!

I can’t explain how PERFECT this was .

I loved this dance for many reasons. 1) it was beautifully choreographed and well performed. And 3) it teaches a lesson and shows how easy it is to be manipulated by evil without even knowing it.

I love the costumes because as someone who loves overanalyzing things (especially things with religious imagery) I really love that the girl, who I assume is supposed to be a human manipulated by the devil, has a dark gray costume. Gray is the in between on white (often associated with purity) and black (often associated with evil), dark gray is basically the in between but leaning towards evil which is pretty much exactly what’s shown in the dance. With the devil manipulating the girl but the girl not fighting back and instead seeming to enjoy or at least being content with ‘dancing’ with the devil, it makes sense she would be leaning towards evil but still not pure evil because she’s still only a human.

2:17 the look & subtle head movements alone indicate that these girls have experience well beyond their years. Incredible musicality & timing, lots of difficult techniques, and they played the characters well through and through. They’ve just got the full package 🔥

I love how individually they dance. The one in red is abrasive and throws her body into the movements, while the other in a cooler tone exhibits more physical control and grace.

I find it so funny how contemporary is different depending on the country (don’t wanna say that one is better than the other it’s really just a factual comparison), I think there is an “American contemporary” where it’s more about physical performance (high legs, and even fit body and sparkling outfit) and really “contest coded”, while in France you can win a contest without physical performance, and I don’t have enough vocabulary to develop aha but if someone reads that and is interested I really suggest you to check some contemporary choreographer such as Ofesh Schechter if you don’t know him bc it’s the type of contemporary we have in France in most of contests
