Absolutely awesome
Stunning for ever.
LOVE it, great song and performance from everyone.
This song brings me to tears every single time.
I never listen to country but Kelly is just amazing. Her phrasing and voice is the best. RIP Amy you were so good.
Gorgeous song and gorgeous rendition. Truly perfect.
This is what I deserve!
WOW!
Better than the studio version…..
I was lucky enough to get to see her play few years ago,.. she's still an inspiration. Just luv your music.🎶🎸🥰
Mighty good. Bitchin guitar solo.
Is that John Hiatt doing the introduction?
It certainly is
11 years, 56 likes. I just can’t see how that can be. This girl is what country music is all about.
It's almost a sin isn't it? I first saw Kelly when she was a teenager singing a club in Alexandria, VA. in the late 2000's before she made the move to Austin. Saw her twice more, same club, when she returned to perform with her then husband Bruce.
Yer a national treasure Ms.Willis.
This girl is an true American living legend.
Saw Ms.Willis and her outstanding band on a fluke at this little out of the way pub called the Balboa Cafe on Mill Ave in Tempe Az. September 12,1999. I remember standing outside talking to a girl friend of mine who was working the door. And I was kinda drunk. There was this camper parked off to the side where the bands would load in. Just then, I turned to see Ms.Willis come out of the door of that camper, down the steps slowly followed by her band, in single file walking by us. And as she did, she smiled at us and said “Hey.” I said to all of them, “Have a great show you guys” as they kept walking straight through the front door, through the bar to the stage. As I watched all this from the front patio, I knew this was gonna be special some how. The setting was very intimate, the crowd was one of the most respectful and attentive I’ve ever had the pleasure of being a part of. The room was small and the acoustics perfect, with a stage setting that could have been anybody’s warm living room. These musicians and Ms. Willis created the most serene ambience of true country folk music that I have ever heard. For about an hour and a half I was surrounded by sounds of love, hope, and heartbreak. It was truly a moment in time that comes along unannounced, leaving you feeling that you have witnessed something special. It was church. And I’ve been a Kelly Willis fan ever since.🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸
I felt like beeing in the Balboa Cafe when I read what you have written. Great stuff !!
It is sad other folks have found fame Kelly and Bruce's music, when it is clear their versions are superior. I have the big C and I hope I get to see her before it is all over.
OK, I'm old and you probably can't do this anymore ! ! ! LOL Stick a Kelly Willis CD on when in the car and you'll find it difficult to move on to another Artist. That's why I alway's caarried 3 of her album's in the car.
She was back at it in 2019. Saw her in Texas.. awesome and putting great use to that Voice.
Met her when she played here in Charlotte with Dave Alvin at the Visualite Theater. Pretty Dresses from this album is excellent, as was her fiddle playing.
Killer, love this ditty, shame she’s gone RIP
lovely sweet person, saw her play with Kelly Willis in TX, she was amazing and so talented--still miss her
Lovely version
the late Amy Ferris--we miss you terribly--such a sweet and talented person--so sad we lost you ten yrs. ago
I have always held an open space in my heart to Love Kelly Willis.
Amy Farris was awesome--sweet, talented, and gracious--she is still missed--incredible talent
other girl with Kelly is the late Amy Farris--lovely and incredibly talented--took her life in LA--suffered from depression--incredible loss-she was lovely and very nice--we still miss her terribly
thought it was obama speakin
We all deserve it all! Love some Kelly! You should reach out to Belinda Carlisle for a great duet!
Kelly Willis is fucking great.
God Bless Texas
Bless its little heart.
the late Amy Ferris is playing fiddle here, she was great and very nice--so sad she has passed
I saw Amy Farris several times when she was with Kelly. She always had time to chat with me after the gig. I didn't really know her but adored her still. Last year when I saw Kelly play, I asked if we could talk about Amy. Kelly told me when she plays the songs Amy sang harmony on, she can still hear voice.
Kelly is truly great, has such talent and modesty--classy and elegant on stage and off--seen her for over 20 yrs. and very grateful got to know her and Bruce
Back in the early 90s when Kelly came out with her first album "Bang Bang" I could go from Whitney Houston right to listening to Kelly. Throughout my life as a musician I have always loved a wide variety of music. But now i'm in my mid 50s and there is just nothing like the old school 90s country and pop music to stir the soul and get me tapping my feet. I haven't played in a couple years but I still appreciate good music when I hear it and I haven't heard ANYTHING this good in a very long time. It's been nice growing old with Kelly Willis. Love her music. Always have and always will.
Geesh, to think people can stand at a mic and have such vocal talent these days over light shows, auto tune and shaking around like strippers......this is talent...sexy, classy, just love her
excellent song, great performance by Kelly
This music should have a bigger audience.
Country is not my favorite music, but what this woman does with her voice and songs, awakens feelings in me that I thought were long gone. She does a song called "FEELIN' FOR YA" that is one of my top 10 songs of all time. Thank you KELLY WILLIS, for waking me up and letting me know how lucky I am to still play. Ever heard of April Smith ???
I miss Kelly - Not sure she has ever gotten what she deserved.
she is still performing--check her on Facebook or Google--she tours in TX a lot
You can thank (or shit on) Clear Channel Radio for that. When they bought all the major markets the young punks out of college squashed real country music.
She's just one of those artists who elected never to play by the Music Road playbook.
@@mandoist I expect Clear Channel had something to do with it, but so did other changes in the music industry. There was massive consolidation among record labels in the late 1990s and early 2000s. In the aftermath, the majors closed a huge number of labels and basically abandoned a generation of artists they should have been nurturing. She was one of them.
I have not forgotten you :)
I couldn't say it better....
Good stuff. A big fan from Seattle say's so. And to AUS10TEX, you nailed it. "There is a reason for Austin and Nashville" This is it.
I felt the same way as she describes at the beginning when I first heard Nick Drake's work... (this song is a Nick Drake cover)
There is a reason for Austin and Nashville. Good reason.
I finally got this fiddle solo down! We love and miss you Amy Farris. rip
I've known Kelly for 20 years-following her career before the MCA CDs Have seen her in Austin, Houston and Yoakum Texas when she played with Brucie about 5 years ago-I have all of her cds and 45s which I collected-She so personal person and I have intrerviewed her several stories that I wrote when I was at the Wharton Journal-Spectator-Know her husband Bruce really well and have known him about 20 years as well
how dare u , che is better than anyone who came off of American Idol or the top 40, she is lovely and beautiful and captures the essence of music she is too good for most
What's not to love about her?? And I'm sure she makes great mac/ cheese for her kids.
great song - love Kelly
