And like all left wing movements, at first it seemed innocent and innocuous, claiming that women just wanted equal rights and to not be treated like property. Fair enough. You negotiate higher pay increases with each change, and ultimately make more than if you tried to grind your way up the corporate ladder in the same company. Since Corporations account for a massive portion of the job market, and because they are likely not the only industry where pay increases come with changing jobs, I don't think your advice is applicable to the mainstream masses. I use to have your attitude and for the most part I agree with everything you say, However, after I actually attempted to work hard and went above and beyond I was granted a promotion. When I received the offer letter for my promotion the "significant raise" I was promised was 2%. The only reason anyone goes to work is because it gives them money, There is no incentive for me to work harder for a company and do more work if I'm not going to be financially rewarded for it. So now I just do enough work to not get fired. For the past two years I show up an hour late everyday and leave an hour early and now they want me to take on a new role for even more money, its like the less work I do the more they like me. I think what you need to recognize is these 12-15$ hour jobs are designed for peasants and no one wants to do them, These jobs are literally tailored for dumb people who have 0 skills, and the reason they have 0 skills is because they sit around and complain all day instead of leveling up and getting a real job. So you claiming to have many employees who complain all day makes perfect sense because the 12$ an hour jobs are for brain rotted zombie slaves, no person with self respect is actually going to willingly want to work in those roles, so they will either complain about the job or level up and get a better job.

The problem is that this didn’t used to be a problem. A house used to be 3x the yearly salary. Now it’s more like 8-10x your salary. Doesn’t really matter what you do for work anymore. If people were getting what they needed, they wouldn’t complain. There are definitely employees who aren’t worth it at all but there are also hard workers that aren’t making enough. So if you want to keep those hard workers you gotta compensate or else they will look elsewhere. Then you’re stuck with shitty employees. It goes both ways it’s a balance.

I agree with what you said here. Another aspect is that lots of the low paying positions are being mistaken for careers, when they are not. Jobs vs careers are different. Jobs typically dont come with the benefits, perks, opportunities that come from pursing real careers. If you want more out of life, you should use a job to put money in your pocket will you do other things to pursue a career. Theres a difference between the individual that goes to the warehouse job, leaves and complains they're working their butt off for low wages and no prospects and the individual that leaves the warehouse job to go to night school for an accounting degree. Difference being within 4 years that second person will have way more options open up to them and the first guy will still be complaining

Since anecdotal experience is weighted more in determining the situation according to you then you must be wrong bc my anecdotal experience is different from yours. Oh wait that’s an insane and idiotic way of forming opinions. We could go to department of labor statistics showing how wages haven’t kept up with company profits, owner and ceo salary to a point where its 1/8th what it was a few decades ago. But if we did that you’d have admit you need to pay people more and you’re opinion is based only on you justifying unethical business practices. I know you can’t do that

How do you expect someone to perform when they realize that no matter how hard they work, they'll nearly never get any real reward out of it? I worked in retail for 4 years. It's long hours, heavy demands, few promotions, and low pay. CEOs and upper management get filthy rich while everyone else scrambles for crumbs. Part time hours. No real benefits. Piddly cola raises....no incentives Does that make people "lazy" or demoralized? Calling people "lazy" is a convenient excuse for the owner class to deny increase in pay or benefits.
