can someone give examples of the “singular incidents that are too disturbing to mention”? I know about the Kobe child murders, idk watching this movie made me realize how unhinged teens were in the 90s

I watched this ages ago, I still think about the beautiful tall green fields they stood in from time to time. Gorgeous soundtrack, Hikousen was my favourite song from the album. If you're a fan of the OST give some Akino Arai songs a go, though not exactly the same they have that 'ethereal' quality to them. A bit like Bjork. I'll link a couple of my favourites below. Great video, but I have to disagree with one thing. You said this anime’s art hasn’t lived it’s best shelf life, which is just wrong. Memories (along with other 80s and 90s anime) it was all hand-drawn with real pencils, paint, and cels, which gave it a unique, authentic feel. The storytelling was more mature too, and the art had more realistic proportions, unlike some of today’s digital anime shows where the characters have big eyes and small noses with the usage of lazy CGI techniques and flashy, unnecessary effects which is just cheap. But 80s and 90s anime were real art without any lazy short cuts and they were peak! Memories especially had an incredible art style, maybe even better than “Akira” and it barely used CGI, which made it stand out even more.

I feel that the relationship twist represents a dilemma, in term of tradition vs own feeling/ interest. Shun at the meeting shouted one should ditch all the old school thought and be brave in expressing own feeling. But sacaratically, he was also a very traditional guy, even thinks that the ash in Latin quarter has some sort of historical significance. When he found out that they share the same father, he chose to respect the tradition and suppress his feeling, contrasted his speech. Umi’s house although as old as Latin quarter, is dustless. She was also the first one to stand up and confess the love regardless the circumstances. Not sure what Goro tries to say, just my immediate feeling during my first time of watching this movie.

I like to believe that the scene where Tsuda messes around and flies the kites is a metaphor of her actually experiencing what children her age shouldve. Like restoring her innocence, since children often fly kites and play around. She's been doing dirty work for so long and when she saw the kites and joined them just felt so significant. We got to see her smiling and laughing while flying the kites and i just find that so child-like. Its heartbreaking.

🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 00:00 🤔 *Love's contemporary concept involves blissful infatuation with physical attraction, evolving from medieval courtly love to today's diverse practices, including casual dating and hookup culture facilitated by dating apps.* 01:20 🔄 *Despite changes, people still crave love; defining the desired kind-whether it's about sex, deep connection, or caring for another-is essential.* 03:18 💖 *Ancient Greeks identified three main types of love: Philia (selfless, virtuous love), Eros (passionate, often associated with lust), and Agape (enduring, selfless, based on acceptance).* 07:36 🔄 *Each form of love has its blessings and caveats; Eros brings euphoria but also pain and selfishness, Philia is stable yet conditional, and Agape is unconditional but may lack passion and sexuality.* 09:31 🔄 *Balancing different forms of love is suggested, with ongoing care, friendship, responsibility, and sacrifice being crucial for maintaining long-term relationships.* Made with HARPA A/s

If you take this series seriously, it's fucked up, if you watch it with the mindset of a hentai, it's amusing.

As someone who recently turned 19, don't worry! Your age doesn't really change anything People will have more expectations towards you and the pressure will get a little bit bigger but at the end of the day, you'll realize you'll be fine. It can be pretty fun too because you get more freedom so be sure to enjoy because one day you'll miss it.

Why can’t people animate like this anymore?!? Adult animation like the new dc movies and that skull island series just look like bland picture books it’s so sad but literally every shot from these eras anime’s could be a painting it feels like people gave up the hard work for an easier time
