In the 70s, this was the first time we were shown what Middle Earth looked like. Each year there would be a new 'Tolkien Calendar" by the The Brothers Hildebrandt. Just amazing designs that really spurred my imagination and increased my love for Middle earth. I Also loved their work in "The sword of Shannara" and 'Urshurak"!

Some of them dont even seem to be monsters like stone age man or quasimodo, and like butcher ect. theyre just people. And King KOng is basically a gorilla. And then squinx is not a monster either. And others seem to be completely made up, like theyre not in movies or tv shows. What I like is the scarecrow is the one from Gossebumps, but then they missing other goosebumps monsters, like pumpkingheads or the reptiloid creeps. And then Aliens classicly were a thing which are missing here as well.

You're 'spot on' mate - 'The Bunyip from Berkley's Creek' IS definitely Australian. It is an absolutely fabulous book. My late grandmother bought it for us. Growing up in Australia, in the bush and having had Aboriginal stories read and told to us, we knew all too well what The Bunyip was... always thought there may have been one who lived in our dam. This book is a beautiful book that is very sympathetic to bunyips and children who have ever felt like they were either 'the odd one out' or 'The Ugly Duckling'...🥺 In Aboriginal Folklore, Bunyips can be scary creatures... almost a bit monster-like... I feel like they may have been used in stories to keep the children close after dark so the kids would not stray nor go near the water after dark. Just a beautiful story that may have been published in 1974, but has a timeless message - to forget the meanies and just 'be you'.😊

The devil plays a game and this game was special. When Cage told her he laughed it was because usually people want to act or sing. Her wanting to be a cop was hilarious to the devil because he knew this would be way more fun. That’s why they laughed. Everything was to see if he can get her to kill her mom. That’s why at the end when she ran out of bullets she just said F it. Because the game was over. The devil won. After that nothing else mattered.
