Backflip On Skis Full Progression
มุมมอง 285Kปีที่แล้ว
A backflip was a personal skiing bucket list that I've always wanted and I finally managed to get it this season. A big thanks to all my friends and family members that patiently spotted/filmed/coached/encouraged me! Also a big thank you to Stomp It Tutorials. At this point I've probably watched hundreds of their videos.

Went on a ski trip to Rusutsu Resort in Japan and was blessed with crazy powder on one of the days. This is the video of my first time ever experiencing such insane conditions. Shot with GoPro Hero 5 Black
The attempt at 2:50 made my day that’s how I imagine mine will go
An adrenaline junkies dream. Why was that man screaming? LOL
Hello. I love the video and want to learn to backflip aswell. Do you have any specific tips to help me progress faster? Also, how can a find a trampoline place that also offers tramp skis and stuff like that? Thank you!
Remember - if it looks steep on camera, the reality is it’s even steeper. Well done, to the skier. 👍 I am an advanced skier, but I value my brittle bones way too much to attempt this, at my age of nearly 55. 🙂
Are those skis "short enough" ??? 150 cm ??
Hello George I congratulate you on a great ski run. Thank you for the film. I wish you wonderful skiing experiences. With alpine greetings Raphael Wellig
Balls! Well done...
I felt exactly the same when I did it. I think once was enough for me. 🤣
Let’s go!!!!!! 🎉🎉🎉
Isn't that the notch? I thought once is enough? Is another rock group over??
Not nearly as dangerous as when Wife/Partner/Mother sees this video!!! Kudos
Awesome Awesome Awesome example of perseverance!!!
Bro what a brilliant video I’m literally on this journey now and bust my neck and fractured my nose learning but I ain’t giving up
💞Wow💜💗💗💜💗💗💗
your brother has my forever respect for that lol
You don't need a technique to straightline a chute. You need incredible strength to slow down after the exit.
This guy wants to die
How do I not snap my heel tendon thingy doing that?
the stoke tho!! 😂
Love it ! !!STOKE!!
Damn
That’s an empty once is an enough!! What are those skis 160’s?? Barney !!!
how do you even train for something like this??
It’s called dead man’s chute
Back when I was a kid we just hucked it and prayed
Arrest this man
Can someone please tell me where that foam pit jump is?
Wow. You’re basically floating. amazing conditions!
And then... WIPEOUT!
This video is an excellent example of why most people should not learn how to do back flips.
SICK!!
Cameraman did a fantastic job ;)
Good for you! But honestly, is it worth the risk of breaking your neck/back? I've heard far too many stories of people becoming paralyzed. Life changing consequences if it goes bad.
😂😂😂 that last fall
The last clip is wild HAHAH, props man, stoked you got the flip!
I really really respect of you It will be my future!! I'll start to train for backflip on skis
Your brother must have been drinking there at the end! Hahaha that was a “fireball full send” if I’ve ever seen one! 😂 All jokes aside, awesome job putting all these practice routines down before going out and throwing it down on the mountain!
For the naysayers in the comments: Once Is Enough looks completely different in-person than it does in any video I have ever seen. It's probably the easiest 'extremely serious, if you blow it there are serious consequences' line at Kirkwood - but think for one second about what that statement means. The drop-in is approx. 90-degrees for 10 vertical feet, then 50-60 degrees for a long way, with no possibility of making turns to slow down. When the chute opens up enough to allow room for turning, you are going 50+ mph (I clocked it with my phone's accelerometer). The line is wider than typical in this video due to a bigger snow year, but it's still a dangerous line with serious injury potential if you blow it early (or late - tumbling on the flat going 50+ mph would be bad too). It gets done quite a bit every season, but it also breaks a few bones each season.
The other problem is there is a traverse track along the bottom of it.
Loopkicks!
iykyk
Try to pop more on the jumps then you have more air time and can fokus more on the landing
This is a testament to how damn hard it is and you can't do it for free. Everybody falls. Congrats on your backflip, may you free yourself from it now ao you don't end up in a wheel chair. Some of my buddies are rolling already and I am not going to a motocross track ever again.
Huge respect for going all in and then step down a bit to learn easier version and then go all in again and then step down to learn in safer manners 😂😂😂
Nice job man
I honestly find backflip on skiis easier than on trampoline.
you had a spotter for 1/4 of the footage. why do you, and absolute noob, think that is ok?
Aaahhhh, this is also a dream of mine, but sadly I don't the resources or any good skiing seasons to practice/try Nice job doing it, I'm impressed
You can learn it on dry land and then eventually once you earn more money you can learn on skis, snb
Yup, I can easily do a backflip on trampoline now (Very close to on ground), and i have ski stuff but our skiing season is horrriblleeee, so very bad jumps if any@@milliondollarart
gg
You fucking badass! My stoke for you is so high. I gotta find a proper gym where I can work on this.
I backflipped off the back of a trampoline could have landed on my neck and been paralyzed for life so I don't every try them anymore
I was watching this thinking “I think I can handle the falls it takes to learn flips” and then I saw ur brothers slam and was like “nah I’m good” 😅
1:42 imagine this at a ... CERTAIN ... time.
