It helped a lot. Thanks!
Good
What’s that little thumb rest you have? I don’t think I’ve ever seen that
It's called a thumbport and helps me position my right hand :)
Pls give me a western flute 😢🙏
I read that Debussy disliked the impressionist label.
Isn't it also called a melodic scale?
A melodic minor scale is slightly different as it has 2 half steps in it. Whole tone scales only have whole steps :)
هذه الاداة الموسيقية جميلةةةة
is this the same for other instruments as well? i play guitar and scales with more than seven notes never really sound finished LOL
Yeah you can play chromatic scales on the guitar as well. But yeah they never sound finished because the space between each note is the same
Thanks!
Thanku teacher
Help I watch these but I can’t do them bc I keep leaving my flute at school(band) and I can’t get my own flute bc my parents say “we need to know your dedicated, flutes are expensive love”which I do know
Doing exactly this, except on the guitar and not a flute, is how I taught myself to play by ear. I cannot tell you what chords I'm doing or how they fit the motif of the living room, but I know it works because I know how to put my fingers where they need to be to make the right sound. Whenever I play anything original, I'm utterly clueless as to what I'm actually doing or why it works.
Hate to break it to her but that is NOT HOW.U HOLD A FLUTE....
👍👍👍
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanku teacher

Looking forward to your feedback! Best regards, Ahnaf]
Nice
Thank you! I'm a beginner 😢
Yay! Welcome to the flute! How did you get on? Did you manage to get a sound?
@@theflutenerd oh yes! Using what you taught here. Came out fine! 😁
@@maryotegbeye5986 Yay! Awesome job! Once you feel more comfortable I've put together a blog with how to play your first few notes with the whole flute: theflutenerd.com/beginner-flute-crash-course-3-your-first-notes/
@@theflutenerd oh wow. Thank you so much, I'll definitely go through and study 💕
I dont have a flute but i still tried Your glases looks funny
Ooh fun! What did you play along with? :)
Young and wise. Bravo, bravo!!!
i just saw this video and the first thing my eyes catch onto is "mf" ( mezzo forte or i forgot )
Yup! That's correct! mf is 'mezzo forte' (moderately loud)
@@theflutenerd Thanks, to be honest I forgot🙏
Wise words cheers
Born to fly... sometimes we almost have the urge to send them flying out the window! Of course only almost.
🤣🤣🤣
"Done it" swish at the end.
I love ur glasses ! ❤
Aw thanks!
Thank you for this i will try this!!❤❤❤
You are amazing 😊❤
When you are a beginner warm-ups are sometimes enough to get you fatigued. Sometimes warm-ups becomes warm oops! Because you crack and split the notes. Later on warm-ups become more like exercises in tone quality. I also think that warm-downs (or cool downs) after a session of hard praticing are beneficial. Your glasses look gorgeous.
Ah good point! But ideally warm-ups should be a way to ease into the practice, so maybe you're warming up too hard!! haha.
In a word, " AWESOME"!!! 👍😎
Hi Alex! DUHHH, worked well! I got some decent low Cs today! Almost at will. Some are airy but many were solid enough to read on my pitch meter! Or is it metre! 😂 anyway, youda best! Now I have to connect my lower notes! Still gonna take a lot of work! There's progress! Thank you!
Yay! that's great news! Well done. :)
@@theflutenerd Thank you!
Oops I rushed 😅
Haha yes baddie
You are so good 😮
aw thanks!
Thank you ❤❤❤❤❤❤
waw, what is your flute brand ?
I play on a Powell. :)
I’m trying to upgrade to earn an open hole flute from my closed one😂
Ooh exciting! Once you do upgrade, I've got lots of tips on how to transition to an open holed flute here: theflutenerd.com/fafqs-open-and-closed-hole-flutes/
@@theflutenerdthx
I play flute but I’m in 4th so I do not know the notes the only notes I know is b a g c e f c d
You'll get there! I'll see if I can find some beginner duets to add to the playlist!
Flutes are awesome.
Excellent!
aw thanks! :)
You are a gift to the world! Thank You!
I'm one of those crazy people with tons of musical experience that is now retired! I just started teaching myself to play the flute! What am I doing😂! Anyway, Thanks for your encouraging videos!
yay! Welcome to the world of the flute! Happy to help and let me know if you have any specific questions or topics you'd like to see me cover! :)
@@theflutenerd thano you! It may be too specific, and it appears to be something common, bur some hints can help! I finally found a video where Sir James sayd the embouchure must change to reach low F and below. It seems by other vids that things go haywire around E and F in several registers! I'm good down to F#. I get some sound from F down, but in my best Brooklyn accent, it ain't Dat good! Any specifics would be great on embouchure and how hard to blow. I get direction of air .. anyway, I hope it's OK to ask based upon your response.
@@lotsabirds Ooh that's a good topic. It's all about changing the angle of the air as we go lower. The lower the note, the lower our air stream should go. But don't roll in to do this, drop your jaw (my teacher uses to say it's like you're saying the word 'Duuuuh!') I'll see if I can plan something more indepth about it!
@@theflutenerd Born in Brooklyn! Retired in Florida! Had a long career in vocal music! I am totally capable of Duhhhh! LoL! I like that concept! Thank you! I'm having a great time learning!
@@lotsabirds Yay! Just give me a shout if you have any other questions that I can help with in the meantime!
Thank you!
Wow, finally I found a channel that discusses music. I would be happy to subscribe. btw when is the new video released? I really like the editing style of this video 🌟
Nice! Thank you for this tip! ❤ Can you play Paganini Caprice No. 5? It's ok if you can't.😊
Glad you found it helpful! I haven't played that one before, but maybe I'll have a look now! :)
@@theflutenerdThank you!
Beautiful
Well done 👏
How much is the fees???
Hi! This first consultation is free and we'd be able to chat about the best lesson options that will suit your budget. :)
The worst part about that is that I’m pretty sure Tolkien called anyone who learns elvish a virgin lol
