Why do they want you to file that slot out?
What were the holes drilled for?
hummm, what interested me was that check ball w/the spring underneath it!🤔...wonder what happened to minds??🤔...
They forgot to put the relief valve that goes on in the corner
There is nothing better visually than PotatoVision 1.0
Geezous how old is this ? 88
This video is superb vhs feels.
70's porn music is not necessary
And I was thinking where did I hear that music! From the flaking VHS tape 😂
I love transgo kits Ive been using them 25 years now!
Does anybody know where I can get the instructions for transgo shift kit aode 4r70w I purchase one but lost the instructions not sure which drill bit to use where
If you mean the bit used in the drilling done at 10:34 in this video then it's 3/32"
I lost the instructions for the transgo shift kit for AODE 4R70W
One of these instruction sets any good? res.cloudinary.com/transgo/wbiss/sk/SKAODE.pdf or res.cloudinary.com/transgo/wbiss/rk/AODEHD2.pdf or res.cloudinary.com/transgo/wbiss/rk/AODE3.pdf
I heard there are 3 configurations for these. Is that true?
AODE, 4r70 pre and post 01. Did you mean three different levels of shift kit? Because this is the middle one.
@@mrjesuschrist2u well I bought the aode-hd2 kit and had it installed. But someone told me i could have had the shop configure a stronger shift based on 3 different configurations. Do these allow for 3 different configs (like light medium strong) i have an 02 gt mustang
1st,D,OD. No way to hold it in 2nd gear.
Yes,,you can..you must perform the aod epoxy mod to the valve body and then the selector pattern will be 1-2-4. Google:: aod epoxy mod
1 - D -1 will keep 2. Called aod shift. Bad for the transmission but with this upgrade its designed to do it.
Do the "AOD Shuffle": Start out in 1, shift to D, as soon as you feel 2nd gear pull back to 1 to hold 2nd, shift back to D for 3rd, then OD for 4th. This also works on some models of the AX4N/AX4S Taurus/Sable FWD.

Dig the music at the end. Pretty cool funky fusion...Funk em if they can't take a joke...hehe🤠you
*Hi, I was hoping you could lend you knowledge & experience to help me make a decision...* 1) Which do you think is a better transmission; the 4R70w or 4R75w... and why? Specifically in conjunction w a 4.6 sohc v8 (Lincoln Town Car) 2) Between 1998-2011, which do you think is the best model year(s) of the Lincoln Town Car, and why? Thank you a ton!
Just prepare for a trans rebuild with either at 200k miles.
I thought I was watching how to install my Transgo kit. Did I miss something?
Great video I knew when I first watched it that it was a few years old. But this video was using the same kit that I purchased just my kit was updated from the one in the video. I just needed some help understanding what the paper information was trying to say and between both it went together very easily. I’m used to B&M shift kits but this one stood out over that manufacture now after I get done with it I will test it out to see if it works.
Do I need to rebuild it transmission work good can I just install it
25:30 80's porn music
cool dakota!!!
watch this guy's video 48re and 47re valve body's are the same far as I know,.th-cam.com/video/QAXO-pnfMo8/w-d-xo.html
Good video
3rd gear shudder under light acceleration climbing a hill... Is that a valve body issue?
Did anyone even notice that the speedometer jumps 10 mph faster when they show it shifting. I don't know of a ford pickup that jumps in speed like that when it shifts. That is a bad gauge or a gauge that is not in the pickup. Not realistic at all. No pickup jumps 10+mph in less than one second when it shifts.
You didn't realize that the truck was on jack stands and the vehicle's rear wheels were spinning freely.. Completely normal
is this video Stone age I seen then working on a 91 tbird as if they was in the year 1991 lol... The video is very much step by step in depth but how can this be referenced to modern times if kits have changed . And is this an AOD Valve body in this video ?
great video!!!
No drilling of the separator plate on this video as intruded with the HD2 kit.
Exactly. In the HD2 kit, Page 5, there's a guide to drill a 3/32 or 1/8 hole in #2 depending on converter type, in addition to #1 & 1A if not equal to or bigger than .063 both not shown this good video. Maybe the kit wasn't updated back then.
@@abdulhassan1107 I think you're right and this is the video for the original kit. My box has a sticker with "MAJOR UPGRADE ... Sell old stock first" on it which suggests theres been a redesign at some stage.
The face he makes at 5:32 is the same face I make.
What the hell are you talking about that this kit wont fit the 250? It sure as hell will!
Why show a 700 filter with the tools needed?
The car i bought has a kit like this installed, was curios how it all worked and now i'm more confused than ever. Still neat to see a couple things changed makes a huge difference.
si tuviera en español que bien
Love this video. It could never be made/distributed today. No safety glasses. The guy is spraying chemicals in his bare hands. No mention whatsoever of any torque specs. Pounding on the throttle bracket with a chisel to adjust it. Running the car while it's on the jack stands. Lawyers wouldn't allow any one of those today. Sure wish I had the Camaro with only 17,469 miles on it!
Terrible video. Skips over some very important steps! Dont waist your time watching this garbage.
Hi could tell me the stack up on a 2001 4r100 direct clutch one way
anyone no where to buy check balls for a 2001 ford f150 -4r100
the new kits are quiete different then this on the video !!
Great video!!! Thank you so much!!!
Why take the main valve body down if your not gonna do anything to it?
need to do an updated video...
Bobby Ward yea the new shift kit ned more drill and insert orifice plug...and this video forget instal the relase epc valve,
Do you have a complete vid for a 47RE?
anyone tell me why I don't have this blue spring in my kit???????
no good
If you can change your transmission fluid and filter you can do this. It's not hard at all. Just do yourself a favor and make your own servo and accumulator tool from box steel and threaded rod with some nuts and a wing nut to compress pistons to free up two hands to remove snap rings, and especially useful when trans is installed and you are upside down. Transmission bench has a whole 4R70W rebuild video series on TH-cam, I think Part 1 Lesson 3 has the tool I'm talking about, it took me 10$ to make instead of paying 50 or more for the real tool I rebuilt my 95 AODE to 98+ 4R70W specs and used this shift kit. This shift kit is quality, the EPC relief is genius and I am enjoying chirping gears 1-2 and 2-3 thanks to 3500 stall and 4.10 gears! Get it and have fun!
Edward McSwain I've got a 95 AODE and would also like to convert to the 4R70W specs. I don't suppose you have a list of the parts you used and where you got them from? Thanks
rush2005 it is pretty easy and you can actually do it off ebay without actually having to touch the seals and frictions themselves because they sell rebuilt ready to go pieces put together, search on ebay for 4R70W stub shaft, mech diode, reverse drum and direct drum assemblies, planetary gear, sun shell to match, and make sure it specifies it is for V8 vehicles so it has the extra clutches, the v6 got a few less clutches is only difference. Rest is identical, can probably get it all for less than 300 bucks
Edward McSwain Thanks. much appreciated.
This video is old as dirt and doesnt show nearly enough to complete the entire kit. Transgo seems to be extremely behind in times. They should update their informational videos and start taking emails.
Can you do a how to video for trans go reprogramming shift kit for a 4l65e?
There's a couple differences between this video and the actual instructions in the HD2 kit. 2nd accumulator spacer is actually long and narrow and goes inside the inner "purple" spring which is inside the outer "purple" spring. On the 3rd accumulator use the kit supplied "white" spring not the original. And there is a spacer that goes on the end of the retainer tip to spread the load of the retainer on the separator plate. Glue it to the retainer w a bit of grease or assembly lube. Lastly, when bolting up the valve body, don't forget to put on the EPC relief valve that was assembled earlier (part of the paper directions).
Shane Bennor thanks! And one question..in the new instruccions have drill the 2A hole and insert the orifice plug whit light hamer, and re drill Whit .o55 after of insert the orifice plug...that its right? This is to reduce the 2A hole?
I've been using transgo parts since 1976
Sounds like Obama
