I remember going to this gig and yes it was great to see REM after a long gap but I didn't really get Monster (and I still don't) and it was a real disappointment they played so little of their 80s backlog. This was for a new stadium crowd. When they played So. Central Rain I was literally the only person for 30 yards jumping up and down. It was only a decade later they thankfully returned to their roots and ditched a lot of the grunge.

I requested this song that night (you can hear me say WOO! at about 10 seconds in... the 10 second lag is actually me looking in disbelief at my {then} ex gf with a look of joy on my face!). That night and the feeling around this moment actually led to my ex and I getting back together for another beautiful year (THANK YOU NORMAN!). It was also a few weeks before the 2016 election, which now feels like a 'from here to eternity' moment.... a fragile time of optimism before all hell broke loose. It was my favorite song, by my favorite band, and hearing them grant my wish was like finally catching a foul ball at a baseball game after years of near misses. Its as though by posting this you gave me the ball to put over my fireplace and cherish. thanks.

I went to see The Burning Hell in Boston two days before that (and in Worcester, Burlington, Troy and NYC) - every single show was amazing; they have such a unique musical chemistry on stage! Thank you so much for uploading these videos - it's virtually like having a recording of one of the concerts I attended!

This was one of the best and most important days of my life. Really great to see this. Undertow was a stand-out.
