We have to appreciate that pretty much every single person in the beginning of the show (aside from Paulette) was so iffy about Elle’s idea to go to law school just to win back a guy. Rightfully so but they didn’t try to talk her out of it they just cringed and followed along, or shamed her for the idea just bc of how she looked and acted at the time. Then comes in emmet, who despite whatever he might think of Elle in the beginning not only tries to help her feel better about things but actually helps her do good in school to impress this guy. He didn’t shame her for the stupid idea and tell her to go home. He saw how passionate she was and said “okay let’s do this then”
