@@redneckrebel6246 yeah there was a big hotel on the other side of the river back in the day but I think it burned down at some point.. used to be a wild place from what I've read. I don't think the school bus runs out that far anymore "it may" but amrak still stops at thurmond station.

@travsteelman the old store across the river, was where wild water unlimited was at. Pretty busy in 70 again. Who knows could happen again down there.

@@redneckrebel6246 I follow the thurmond facebook page and there's talk of tearing down a good amount of the existing structures.. they're trying to find the funda to save it so heres hoping

@@tapptom I'm considering it.. not sure where I'm heading but I've got a couple weeks off the end of this month and west Virginia is as good or better than most places.

It really was.. that was my first view of the morning I got there and I was half asleep and amazed.. good breakfast too. The turquoise motel in giza.. super nice people.

@@travsteelman What was the price in USA dollars at the Turquoise? What was breakfast? Were you considering a move there?

@@tapptom i got an 8 day stay for about $173 usd through air bnb.. super cheap and decent little hotel. Not sure what breakfast was technically called but lunch meat wraps with yogurt or there was a pretty good restaurant menu.. dinner was good. Definitely not considering a move but it was a really nice visit 😀

@@tapptom egyptair was late all 3 flights.. seems the norm and was frustrating. Good flights otherwise 🤷‍♂️

@@tapptom the egyptian pound has tanked in the last few years.. the infrastructure needs some serious attention and so does the poverty issues.. that being said,the people are super friendly and helpful outside of the tourist areas.. the tourist bazaars are rediculous with the aggressive salesmen and scamming.. I felt super safe in giza.. walked around at midnight with zero issues and had locals asking me if I needed assistance 😃

@@tapptom I've been wanting to see egypt since I was a kid so took the plunge.. bucket list stuff. Was over there for 8 days and seen all the tombs and main sites.. neat stuff 👌

@@JohnSmith-nw2ls it's owned by the state of west Virginia as far as I know.. homes like this are all over west Virginia at reasonable prices though.. download the realtor app and check it out 😃 I've been looking for years.. the tricky part is finding a job locally that pays the bills.

I would imagine most land/homes for sale in WV aren't listed on any websites, it would probably take time and lots of foot work in these towns to find something, though I keep hearing there's tons of dirt cheap land/homes for sale in WV. How can government/state claim they own such a large area as this? Every acre of land in the USA has a history, seems so wrong for government to close off place after place in the name of preserving history.

@@travsteelman That is interesting to hear. I wonder how you'll like them over time. I have been looking at the Tusk to track as well. They seem to be a great price and the other tusk products have seen to be decent quality.

They seem really well made.. I took it in the local sand pits and it had alot better traction than stock for sure.. haven't really ridden it alot on road but the road noise isn't bad like people had warned me. Thinking of riding it up to ocala thise weekend so I'll see how it operates then 👍

They're healthy and happy and a combined 29lbs. They had some allergies I had to get checked out.
